Last 16 at Q School 2: Barry Pinches v Daniel Womersley Sanderson Lam v Ross Muir Mark Lloyd v Hammad Miah Duane Jones v Craig Steadman Robbie McGuigan v Michael Judge Kuldesh Johal v John Astley Lei Peifan v Alfie Burden Liam Pullen v Michael Collumb
Pinches, Jones and Lei were all recently relegated. Of the others, all have played on the tour before except (to the best of my knowledge) Womersley, Lloyd, McGuigan, Pullen and Collumb. I believe Pullen is the only one never to appear in a professional tournament.

Q School 2 qualifiers: Barry Pinches Craig Steadman Michael Judge Alfie Burden All four are ex-tour players. Pinches had just been relegated. The other three are experienced pros though Judge hasn't been on the tour since 2010. He has been one of the leading players on the seniors circuit in recent years. At 38 years old, Steadman is the youngest of the four. Burden retired after being relegated last year but after a year out of the game, he decided to come back and now returns to the tour. In addition to the 12 qualifiers from the three events, the top 2 on the Q School Order of Merit (based on total frames won across the three events) will receive a two-year tour card. As it stands, they are Hammad Miah and Lei Peifan. (source: snooker.org)

Q School 3 qualifiers: Ian Burns Lei Peifan Dean Young Duane Jones
Burns, Lei and Jones all return immediately after being relegated. Young qualifies for the main tour for the first time.
Qualifiers through the Q School Order of Merit: Hammad Miah Mitchell Mann
Mann is another getting straight back on the tour after relegation. Miah returns after a two year absence. Sanderson Lam and Michael Georgiou were next on the Order of Merit, so we can expect to see them playing in some tournaments where not all 128 tour players choose to take part.

David Gilbert won the Championship League, beating Mark Allen in the final to finally win his first ranking title, 19 years after he first turned professional.
The British Open starts on Monday. It features a random draw for each round, with matches played as best-of-5 until the quarter-finals, which are best-of-7, as are the semis. The final is best-of-11.
Among the matches thrown up by the "random" draw for the 1st round are world champion Mark Selby facing Shaun Murphy in a repeat of this year's Crucible final and Mark Allen taking on his ex Reanne Evans.
