Gary Wilson wins his first ranking title by beating Joe O'Connor 9-2 in the final of the Scottish Open.
The win takes Wilson up to 18 in the world rankings. O'Connor is now at 40. They move up to 5th and 12th respectively on the one-year list, all but guaranteeing them a spot at next month's World Grand Prix.

Presume Ding Junhui will now take up Yan Bingtao's spot in the Masters next month. It depends on how they decide it. When the 16-player field was decided after the UK Championship, David Gilbert was next in line at 17. Ding needed to win the UK to get into the Masters, but losing in the final meant he was ranked 19th. If they decide it based on the current rankings, Hossein Vafaei was 17th at the start of the English Open but has now provisionally dropped due to the points he's lost this week, meaning Gary Wilson now occupies the next spot, but he could be overtaken by one of Anthony McGill, Ali Carter or Matthew Selt, if they win this week's tournament. The other (but highly unlikely when tickets have already been sold) option would be to award Mark Williams a bye to the quarter-finals.

Probably will be Dave Gilbert then if the UK Champs is the cut off point.
Thinking back to when Ronnie withdrew before the 2020 Masters draw was even made, he was replaced by Ali Carter who was just outside the top 16.

Zhao Xintong and Zhang Jiankang have been suspended as part of the ongoing match-fixing investigation, bringing the total to 10.
Zhao was due to face Mark Selby in the 1st round of the Masters. If he's replaced in the same way Yan Bingtao was, Hossein Vafaei is next in line to take his place.
