Quarter-finals: Ding Junhui 6-5 Mark Williams Mark Selby 3-6 Judd Trump Ronnie O'Sullivan 6-5 Zhou Yuelong Hossein Vafaei 6-4 Zhang Anda
Semi-finals: Ding Junhui 6-4 Judd Trump Ronnie O'Sullivan 6-2 Hossein Vafaei
By getting to the final, Ronnie O'Sullivan is guaranteed to remain world no.1. If he wins tomorrow, he'll extend his lead over Judd Trump to over Β£200,000. If Ding wins, he will move up to no.6. Due to the uncertainty over Ding's ranking, we probably won't get the draw for the Masters tomorrow like we did during last year's UK Championship final.

Ronnie O'Sullivan wins the UK Championship, beating Ding Junhui 10-7 in the final. It's his 8th UK title and comes 30 years after his first. He is now both the youngest and oldest winner of the tournament.

The draw for the Masters WAS made on Sunday. Both the seeded and unseeded pots contained "Ding Junhui or Mark Williams" as an option, depending on whether Ding won or not. Sadly, Williams or Ding v Ding or Williams didn't come out in the draw.
Draw: Judd Trump v Kyren Wilson Mark Williams v Ali Carter Mark Selby v Robert Milkins Mark Allen v John Higgins Ronnie O'Sullivan v Ding Junhui Neil Robertson v Barry Hawkins Shaun Murphy v Zhang Anda Luca Brecel v Jack Lisowski
The next tournament is the Shoot Out, starting on Wednesday.

Brilliant 147 break by Shaun Murphy in the Shoot Out.
I'd probably rate it up there as one of the best 147s of all time, given the time pressure format of the shoot out and having to deal with the noise of the crowd.

Seems to be a bit of debate over where it ranks. I'd certainly put it up there in terms of difficulty. Others have said it's not as good as say, making one in the deciding frame of a final, but in that situation, the frame is already won when you get past a certain point so the pressure of the match situation is lifted. Whilst there is definitely a place for the Shoot-Out, the moronic shouts from the crowd make it unwatchable at times, so Murphy did an amazing job keeping it together for the whole break, especially given the 10-second shot clock towards the end.

I don't mind the format of the shoot-out and involving the crowd to create some ambient noise but there's must be a point where the noise can get disrespectful - like the yellow Shaun faced in his break.
Precisely why I rated it as one of the best 147s break - just having to deal with pressure of the shot clock, the unnecessary pressure of the crowd shouting things like "don't bottle it", along with the pressures of hitting a 147 itself.
I suppose given how many 147s we see now compared to say, 10-20 years ago - I see the argument of why it's not being rated highly as a classic but depending on if it can be replicated again in a future shoot-out, it will probably take some time to be bedded in.

Mark Allen won the Shoot-Out yesterday, beating Cao Yupeng in the final, becoming the first top 16 player to win the tournament. It's his 10th ranking title. He's currently 3rd in the world rankings but when you take into account points to be dropped before the end of the season, he's on course to be no.1.

Gary Wilson won the Scottish Open yesterday, beating Noppon Saengkham in the final and successfully defending the title he won a year ago. The win moves him up to 17 in the world rankings. Saengkham is up to 22. The next tournament is the Masters next month though qualifying for the German Masters is taking place this week.

Tough result for John Higgins today losing to Mark Allen on a decider. After the interval, Higgins looked completely lost and gone after leading 3-1. Past battle scars finally catching up with him?
Also the flies/wasps landing on the table seem to be a constant issue every year at Ally Pally, more so than at other venues. Always seems like there's some stale beer from the darts still lying around.

That's been the case with Higgins for a few years now. He just seems to have forgotten how to close matches out. It's almost three years since he won a tournament and he's never quite looked the same since a couple of seasons ago when he lost back-to-back finals in deciding frames, having led 8-6 in both matches.
The wasps were an issue during the darts as well. One player actually got stung on stage just after his match had finished.

It was a good win for Ronnie, especially as it felt he didn't look like he was trying to win it this year. Carter had his chances but was gone at the end of the match. That said, it's a nice achievement for him to get to the final and showed how much he's improved in the last year or so.
Is it me or is the crowd getting a lot more rowdy and disrespectful during the games? There seemed to be more calling out in the middle of the shots or at crucial times. The interview at the end was unbearable to listen to with all the noise from the crowd. Surely something influenced by the shoot out.

It's been like that at the Masters for a long time, particularly when Ronnie is playing. I remember the 2007 final when he played Ding and the behaviour of the crowd was so bad, Ding tried to concede the match a frame early.
