Down to the semi-finals of the Xi'an Grand Prix, which has been taking place this week. Kyren Wilson v Ronnie O'Sullivan Judd Trump v Daniel Wells Trump will become world no.1 if he reaches the final. If he loses in the final, he'd be level with Mark Allen in terms of prize money, but would get the no.1 spot on countback. BTW where are you watching this? Am I right but is this the first time that live snooker or for that matter any highlights are behind an additional paywall. It is only on Discovery+ yeh. It is not on any of the standard Eurosport channels? Snooker and some other sports are about the only things that I watch on VM, if I lose that as well, why I am wasting my money on it. But VM when you try and cut your package back, they always twist things so you are paying more or only save £5 a month or something.

I haven't watched any of it. I'm not even sure it's on Discovery+. I think Matchroom have been streaming it. It's a brand new tournament so seemingly wasn't covered by any existing rights deals and Eurosport didn't bother picking up the rights (possibly because they'd struggle to fit it into their schedule at the moment with the Vuelta a Espana taking place).

Kyren Wilson won the Xi'an Grand Prix, beating Judd Trump 10-8 in the final. The end of the match was the first time there'd been more than a frame between the two finalists.
Trump replaces Mark Allen as world no.1, though they are level on prize money. Trump gets the no.1 spot by way of progressing further in the this tournament. Wilson is now just £25,500 behind Trump and Allen.
Next up is the inaugural Saudi Arabia Masters, starting on Friday, though the top 16 don't come in until the last 32 stage the following Tuesday. The format of the tournament in terms of structure is virtually identical to the World Championship, though the matches are shorter. In typical Saudi fashion, the prize money is on a par with the World Championship too, so the rankings could have a very different look in a couple of weeks' time.

Judd Trump won the Saudi Arabia Masters, beating Mark Williams 10-9 in the final. The £500,000 he gets for winning means he is likely to remain at the top of the world rankings for the rest of the season.
