In your opinion?
Has to be Oasis for me although my heart is saying The Doors.
Both bands of a certain degree of Sex , Drugs and Rock n Roll that are both very similar.
Oasis produced the classic anthems and will always be the band to blare out in the car.
As for the Doors, well every song has that meaning that I could relate to and the lyrics were awesome. Jim had that stage prescence and even when out of it, the band carried it.
Of course, all in my opinion and no doubt you will all disagree.
So who is your best band?

Gosh. I think I have four to choose from (two of whom are relatively obscure, or at least anyrate impressed music critics more than they got noticed by the general public):
The Go-Betweens just edge it to the top , I think, overall - for both lyrics and music. ahead of: first, the Manic Street Preachers, then, The Lilac Time, then: Depeche Mode.

I'm sure moat people can guess that my first choice would be Suede!
My favourite more recent band has to be Public Service Broadcasting.

All all my adult life I would have said Radiohead but I haven’t listened to them repeatedly for ages and based on the last year listening habits I’ll go for Pink Floyd well certainly up to and including The Final Cut. The Gilmour lead stuff isn’t up to scratch musically or conceptually. Favourite album - Animals

I'm gonna have to go for The Wildhearts - no other band comes close in the end. Nearly 30 years of truly immense rock music and not a bad album to show for it.
The Manics come close, Jimmy Eat World come close, but yeah, there's only one answer for me.

I've always felt that Animals is massively underrated.

Don't even have to think about this. For me it's definitely the Verve.
I own every album, single and EP that they released (sometimes in several formats) plus some special editions and a VHS; I was allowed to name one of our wedding tables in reference to them; I've travelled to Thor's Cave so I could be in the same location as their debut album cover; driven past where they went to college; found the pub they did their first gig in, but Mrs H (who is from Wigan) advised against going for a drink as she says it's too rough of a place to go inside. One day, maybe...

Fleetwood Mac will always have a special place in my heart, as will Blondie.

For the last fifteen years anyway it would be Biffy Clyro before that probably Blur then before that INXS.

The Beatles, The Sex Pistols, The Rolling Stones, Blur, Oasis, Guns N' Roses, Nirvana and Pulp have all competed for my attention in subsequent years, but I wouldn't be true to my 15 year old self (or my Haven name) if I didn't answer with this lot...
