It was called shoegaze because the bands that fit into this genre would generally stand still, playing their instruments whilst looking down, as though they were constantly gazing at their shoes

Probably a bit different from Murray's usual discos hehe

Thanks for this thread TheThorne. It was a type of music I never really got into. Playing this sample again, I can see why. But I never object to someone trying to broaden my musical horizons, even if my conclusion is the same as before.

Thanks for this thread TheThorne. It was a type of music I never really got into. Playing this sample again, I can see why. But I never object to someone trying to broaden my musical horizons, even if my conclusion is the same as before. Well if none of those tracks would convert you, little will only acts I really missed were Cocteau Twins and early Boo Radleys and maybe Cranes.
