A week down, 4 sets of votes in so far. I reckon you'll get quite a few more over the weekend. I've run through them once over the weekend and given them an initial score. But will do so again to finalize my order before voting. This. I need another run through or two before I vote.

Haven't even listened once yet. I need a 2 hour window to give everything a decent chance. Will try tomorrow.

Had a listen to them all. Not bowled over by most, 12 points looks like it’s going in the obvious direction. 10 points quite clear-cut also - that one might come as a surprise to some.
Lots of what could be called ‘wallpaper indie’ - unremarkable blandness that might be well-suited to being played in the background in trendy craft beer bars, but I tend to forget everything about these tracks within 5 seconds after they finish

Can't remember how things work will Fickle Friends be disqualified if the album is top 20 and it is sitting at #10 on iTunes? I'm sure the person who chose it was well aware that it would have been likely..

I've messaged the person who entered that, and I've told them that I'm going to accept it as an entry, because it complies with the rules as of the start of the competition.

Well that was rather underwhelming. Seven tracks scored 7/10 or better on first run through, but nothing has sent me out in search of a back catalogue yet.
And, in contradiction to something I said in a different thread yesterday, there is one 0/10 song which is completely devoid of any musical merit.
Anyway, I'm pretty confident my entry will finish in the Top 1.

I think the overall standard this time is very good, some difficult choices to make when it comes to voting.

voted, 4 artist I have never heard of before made my top 10, fairly strong contest but I think I have the same 0/10 Shireblogger
I would say two songs were a 9/10 for me, one 8/10, three 7/10, one 6.5 and three 6/10, the rest were all 4 to 6 out of 10 apart from one song which was a zero

3 stand out for me, and not necessarily the ones I was expecting to knowing the artists. And then apart from a few I've discounted after 1 listen, the rest are 5s that I have to decide which to give the points to. Another listen over the weekend may help.

I'm doing my second run-through now and there are quite a few that I can't remember anything about even after hearing them twice. Very little on this list I actively like or dislike, which makes voting quite hard. As for Shireblogger's comments about the song with no musical merit (assuming it's the obvious one), well all I can say is at least it stands out from the crowd...

My entry look like they probably like hanging out in Craft Ale bars but I hope it's a bit edgier than the most tracks here. But I am expected a mid table finish as usual I thought of better songs after I entered.

Votes in. In the end there were quite a few I could have voted for at the bottom, but it was almost a case of picking a random two or three. At the top, there's a definite genre bias...
