I Am The Resurrection had a short spell at #1, quickly replaced at the top by Even Flow by Pearl Jam, Roxette continue to slowly climb but it looks like Blur have peaked at #3 but there best is yet to come later in the 90's. Highest new entry this week has to be Everything About You by Ugly Kid Joe at #26, its a bit of a classic. Next up is an underrated Scottish band Gun, this was the 2nd single from there 2nd album, I never really got into them until I saw them live at a small festival in about 2014, they broke up in 1997 but reformed around 2010, there latest album Favourite Pleasures (2017) is fantastic, She Knows and The Boy Who Sold The World did very well in my 2017 charts

UKJ are great with this track. It can become irritating after while but I think it is build up astnishingly well. Almost like a guide to "How to do a rock song" sort of thing. It is agressive and energized, kids were going crazy when this got played during a "rock part" of dance nights out.

Funny you should say that, I was just thinking the needless unfunny talking over the intro is super annoying

No surprise that The Cure claim the number 1 spot after such a high entry last week, Friday I'm In Love is the perfect pop song, I'm surprised it never did go to number one, maybe The Cure were classed a bit too alternative to fully cross over into the pop mainstream. Highest new entry is another fantastic Lightning Seeds song, Sense comes in at #21, it want one of the bigger hit stalling at #31 in the official chart but it is an indie pop masterpiece

A second week at the top for Friday I'm In Love but we have a BIG new entry next week, can that displace The Cure and enter straight at number 1? my highest new entry this week is a bit different to my usual songs, it was a #4 hit single here in the UK for Utah Saints and rightly so, Something Good comes straight in for me at #25, Pulp we starting to come up with a few Non-album singles that caught my imagination prior to there breakthrough album His 'n' Hers in early 94 so O.U (Gone Gone) is in at #39, at #41 I couldn't ignore Take That, It Only Takes a Minute is a very nice pop song and was there first song to go top 10

So much deserved for Cure. There's hardly anything better - a crystal clear definition of pop. Otherwise, I would go for George Michael and Elton as some highly memorable radio friendly songs. Much admire Elton in this set of tone. I prefer this to "Sacrifice" have to say, but slightly only.

Not a huge Elton John after about 1988, although some of his early 90's songs are good enough to flirt with my top 20, my favourite song of his so far from the 90s has been Club at the End of the Street followed by his duet with George Michael

July 19th 1992 - July 25th 1992
WE HAVE A NEW NUMBER 1! Maybe a bit of a surprise but it just screams early 90's to me, it was maybe a bit before its time, merging pop, electro, dance and indie perfectly, highest new entry is another contender for future number #1, Lithium is Nirvana at their best. In at #29 is a Soundgarden/Pearl Jam supergroup called Temple of The Dog, Hunger Strike was a #4 single in USA and #51 in the UK and at #36 we have Miley Cyrus dad with Achy Breaky Heart. It was a good week for singles with Genesis, Simply Red, Madonna and Spiritualised having some good singles out in the uk aswel as a USA only single by Slaughter making my top 50

July 26th 1992 - August 1st 1992
"I drove all night, crept in your room, woke you from your sleep to make love to you, Is that all right?" erm not really Roy, you should really ask if its alright before you drove all night, broke into someone's house and sexed them up whilst they were asleep in bed, creepy lyric aside, its a cracking song and jumps to #1. My highest new entry by Roxette has some suspect lyrics too, it starts off "I love the way you undress now, baby begin, do your caress, honey, my heart's in a mess" fair enough but then Per starts signing about if he was younger he would wait outside her school because she has a pretty face, it was the 90s I guess. Real People in at #31 is an interesting one, their first single from the album "Believer" charted at No. 38 and another single, "Too Much Too Young", appeared soon afterwards but the album was never actually released but its a quality song and her it is
