I love 'Listen To Your Heart' to bits, but 'Dangerous' is my favourite song on the 'Look Sharp' album - I'll never get why it wasn't a hit single in its own right. Yeah Dangerous is probably in my top 5 Roxette songs. I just assumed it was a single

It's good to see the contrast. One thing I have noticed is my taste for early 90s music is almost entirely pop or big haired camp rock bands that at the time were probably considered heavy rock based on how game the charts were. Indie and dance are almost off my radar at this point

Indie dance was literally my favourite genre in the second half of 1990. Dan Reed Network were rock though in a well behaved Chili Peppers sense.

Ok lets see if I can get upto 1991 in the next few weeks after a few weeks off whilst I was on holiday, I have a few charts to post up after getting quite a backlog going, so here we go. The top 5 is quite static but AC/DC take over at number 1 with my favorite song of there's and there is a high new entry for Belinda Carlisle with (We Want) The Same Thing in at #7, not a lot that interested me this week in terms of new entries so only Cliff Richard, aha and Tina Turner appear this week

October 14 - October 20 1990
Ok this week is a bit more interesting, Thundertruck hangs onto number 1 but AC/DC are under pressure from Beautiful South and Belinda Carlisle for next week, Happy Mondays - Kinky Afro is the highest new entry and we have 9 new entries this week so quite a bit of movement, classic Morrissey makes the top 20 with Paul McCartney, Whitney Houston and Elton John not far behind, a guilty pleasure Giving You The Benefit by Pebbles makes an appearance, my cousin Andrea who was a good few years older than me gave me her "uncool" vinyl's she didn't want anymore in the early 90s when I was about 9 and she was 16, by then she was more into Bon Jovi and Guns n Roses, one of those records was Pebbles so it makes my top 40, lastly we have a new discovery in Hothouse Flowers, cracking little tune
1. (1.) AC/DC - Thundertruck 2. (5.) Beautiful South - A Little Time 3. (2.) Maria McKee - Show Me Heaven 4. (7.) Belinda Carlisle - (We Want) The Same Thing 5. (3.) INXS - Suicide Blonde 6. (4.) Slaughter - Up All Night 7. (12.) Phil Collins - Hang In Long Enough 8. (14.) Pet Shop Boys - So Hard 9. (NE.) Happy Mondays - Kinky Afro 10. (6.) Talk Talk - Life's What You Make It 11. (16.) A Little Time holds onto the #1 spot holding off Belinda Carlisle for a 2nd week. The La's are the highest new entry with the excellent There She Goes, I think it was a re-release but it did very little first time round. November 11 - November 17 1990
Dressed For Success becomes the third Roxette song to reach my #1 spot in 1990, no surprise that they got big points from me almost every round in Haven Factor, Cherry Pie by Warrant is the highest new entry this week, even in 2018 it is considered a classic of its genre, don't be surprised if it makes my #1 spot in the next few weeks, super group Traveling Wilburys is the next highest new entry at #23

I'm going to Rockingham in October and Warrant are headlining the night I'm going but i am only going for Glass Tiger who if id known were doing a London date , i would have skipped the whole festival. I might stay for Warrant against my better judgement.

November 18 - November 24 1990
Dressed For Success holds on to the #1 spot under big pressure from The La's, I'm certainly enjoying late 1990 a lot more than early 1990, highest new entry is the beautiful Wicked Game by Chris Isaak, it has to be one of the sexiest songs ever written, in fact it was a great week for new releases with some big entries lower in my top 40 from Pet Shop Boys, Vanilla Ice, Dusty and The Proclaimers
1. (1.) Roxette - Dressed For Success 2. (3.) The La's - There She Goes 3. (2.) Blur - She's So High 4. (5.) EMF - Unbelievable 5. (6.) Billy Joel - That's Not Her Style 6. (10.) Warrant - Cherry Pie 7. (9.) Zoe - Sunshine On a Rainy Day 8. (8.) Whitney Houston - I'm Your Baby Tonight 9. (13.) Jimmy Somerville - To Love Somebody 10. (4.) Beautiful South - A Little Time 11. (7.) Happy Mondays - Kinky Afro 12. (NE.) Chris Isaak - Wicked Game 13. (16.) Styx - Love Is The Ritual 14. (11.) Belinda Carlisle - (We Want) The Same Thing 15. (23.) Traveling Wilburys - She's My Baby 16. (NE.) AC/DC - Moneytalks 17. (12.) Jason Donovan - I'm Doing Fine 18. (22.) Kylie Minogue - Step Back In Time 19. (25.) Lindisfarne - Fog On The Tyne 20. (28.) Inspiral Carpets - Biggest Mountain 21. (NE.) The Human League - Soundtrack To A Generation 22. (27.) Kim Appleby - Don't Worry 23. (15.) Deep Purple - King of Dreams 24. (NE.) Shame Vixen aren't playing the same day, still looking good for there age having just charted a few of there songs they sound a lot like Halestorm

Cant believe how different our charts are still though as you favour so much more classic rock and heavy rock than I do although Chris Isaak was my 2nd highest entry at 18 for fun here's my very indie top 10, you might chart one of these when it gets re-issued.
1 1 EMF - UNBELIEVABLE 2 3 Zoe - SUNSHINE ON A RAINY DAY 3 5 Northside - MY RISING STAR 4 6 Pixies - DIG FOR FIRE 5 8 Del Amitri - SPIT IN THE RAIN 6 2 Blur - SHE'S SO HIGH 7 11 Pale Saints - HALF-LIFE REMEMBERED 8 13 808 State - CUBIK/OLYMPIC 9 4 Happy Mondays - KINKY AFRO 10 14 Inspiral Carpets - ISLAND HEAD EP

Half is about the same, EMF, Zoe, Blur, Happy Mondays, Inspiral Carpets (upto #10 next chart)
But yeah the other half yours is so indie and mines Warrant, Roxette, Billy Joel, Styx and Beautiful South
I do wonder how different my chart would have been in 1990 if I compiled it in 1990 as a teenager though, I cant imagine many of them acts being cool ha
