I've done the same (minus muddling it up with Tango) and it's been a joy catching up on it! It's amazing that Sally Wainwright wanted to (and was allowed to) hold S3 back until Ryan was older and they still hung onto the same cast. One of my former film students worked on the set and so I've had a few titbits about the filming (no spoilers - wouldn't want them, and wouldn't ask for them). Out of interest, have you watched "Last Tango in Halifax"? I've honestly never heard of it

It's the same writer - Sally Wainwright - and same star - Sarah Lancashire - but focuses on an older couple played by Derek Jacobi and Anne Reid. Tonally very different though! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Last_Tango_in_Halifax

Good as the last episode of Happy Valley was, I can't help feeling that it wasn't nearly long enough to tie everything up.
They spent so much time building up the stories with the teacher and the chemist, and their endings just felt like an after thought with all the Tommy Lee Royce/Catherine stuff going on.

Totally agree. The chemist sub-plot felt totally abandoned in the end.

Anne Boleyn (the recent miniseries that aired on C5)
Jodie Turner-Smith was superb, loved her performance, didn't think much of the writing though.

They definitely intended to leave those threads unseen in "Happy Valley". The episode was extended to 70 minutes and there's no way the Beeb wouldn't have allowed more. Wainwright chose not to dwell on that as the show was never really about that case, or those characters, and the way she solved everything so neatly was a punchline to the already silly idea that her last day (far from being nearly killed, like the US-trope) had involved her catching two of the biggest baddies in town. I get the need to see every loose end tied up, but for me, the story was always about Becky's legacy, about Catherine's duties. I was sad we never saw her with anyone other than Clare after her encounter with Tommy. Graveside gathering might have been trite, but something I wished they'd included.

Watched the first three episodes of The Afterparty on AppleTV+ today.
Great cast that had us laughing and we're intrigued by the murder mystery too. Good premise in that each episode is the events told by a different character, which gives you each episode with its own genre that matches the character's personality. So far had rom-com, action, and musical.

See (season 1) Pretty good so far. Finished the whole series yesterday. It's really good; a shame they couldn't have eked out another season or two but it ended very nicely. Started The Morning Show (Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon), very enjoyable so far!

Started The Morning Show (Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon), very enjoyable so far! I haven't seen S3 of See yet (waiting for more to build up on Apple TV first, then subscribe for a couple of months and binge the lot), but think the first two were incredibly underrated - possibly just as a result of not many people having AppleTV subscriptions. Season one of the Morning Show was great - I wish I hadn't invested any of my time into Season 2, however. So much on there I'm looking forward to though.

I can highly recommend the final season of See! Good to know re. The Morning Show; our trial of Apple is due to end v soon so not sure we'll make it all the way through. See might be the best thing we've watched over the 3 months.
