339 B52s - Cosmic Thing
Very overshadowed by the super hit 'Love Shack' but this was actually a very fun summery album not a million miles from the stuff that No Doubt and Gwen Stefani would be doing soon. It reached #4 in the US and #8 in the UK.

338 Blur - The Great Escape
First of many appearances for Blur and I was a bit reluctant to exclude any of them from the top 300 but overall this album just didnt deserve it. It does have some of their very best singles on it though. It was the 4th album and gave them a second number one and it was their first album to chart in the US reaching #150. It sold over 2 million worldwide.

337 Gomez - Liquid Skin
Difficult album syndrome applies here and what they did was jut make an album like their debut but just not as good and apart from the first two singles there really isn't much to make this album worthwhile over their debut. It was their biggest hit though reaching#2 in the UK.

336 Temple Of The Dog - Temple Of The Dog
A very recent addition to the list a band I only discovered last year!! Honestly how did I miss this brilliant record with so many grunge superstars involved. the only reason this album misses the top 300 is I have only played it twice but that will be much higher as the years go on. But anyway Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder together just awesome. It reached #5 in the US.

Never really got into Gomez but I did like Whippin Piccadilly, always stood out as a bit of an oddity amongst the bog standard Britpop era songs

335 Concrete Blonde - Bloodletting
A band i discovered through my wifes flatmate at Uni. We used to play this album a lot and I loved it most for 'Joey' of course which I got into trouble for saying it sounded like Roxette. The rest of the album is much gothier than previous Concrete Blonde. This was their third album reaching #49.

334 Silver Sun – Silver Sun
Now a great indie power pop/punk band that are pretty much forgotten, favourites of Steve Lamacq they had a string of great singles. This album reached #30 in the UK.

333 Cranberries - No Need To Argue
Very much not forgotten are The Cranberries. This was their 2nd album and sold 17 million copies worldwide helped of course by the lead single 'Zombie'. It reached #2 in the UK and #6 in the US. We will have more from them later.

332 Bryan Adams - Waking Up The Neighbours
Bryan Adams was very much from another age for me by now but you obviously could not ignore the monster hit lead single from this album although I much preferred single two which got lost under the dominance of that song. Another massive seller 16 million worldwide and UK number one and US number 6. For me this was his last great album.

331 My Life Story - Mornington Crescent
You had many layers to Brit Pop, the A listers like Oasis, Blur,Pulp, the B listers like Supergrass, Ash and Sleeper and then hundreds of C list bands. One of the best C list bands were My Life Story who I thought were 100x better than similar artist Divine Comedy, They had so many sounds on this record a mix of Pulp, Boo Radleys etc with 60s orchestral flare. It only reached #115 in the UK.

330 Slowdive - Souvlaki
Under appreciated at the time as shoegaze was viewed as a bit of a joke by 1994 but this album contains many of their best songs and is now hailed as a classic by tastemakers and indie bloggers like Pitchfork. I only heard it years later through Napster myself. It reached #51 in the UK.

329 Paul Weller - Stanley Road
3rd solo album from Paul Weller and by now we kind knew what we would get with a new Paul Weller album and the Modfather was kind of a Uncle figure to many of the new bands which were big in this period especially Ocean Colour Scene. It was his first solo number one album and his biggest seller going 4x platinum.

328 Travis – Good Feeling
Debut album from Travis which had a very early Radiohead sound and the standard guitar rock sound of the post-brit pop era. It is by no means a classic and they will make much better albums very soon. It reached #9 in the UK and was certified Gold.

327 Boo Radleys- Cmon Kids
I was a huge Boo Radleys fan but I have to admit I really struggled with this album. After their massive success with 'Wake Up' I am not sure they knew what to do next and they went very uncommercial and the songs just aren't their anymore sadly. It reached #20 in the UK.

326 The Jesus And Mary Chain - Honey's Dead
The only album I ever bought by JAMC and probably their best of the 90s, it even gave them a top 10 hit single. The album reached #14 in the UK.

Two acts had the number ones in my chart. B-52's with "(Meet) The Flintstones" in 1994 and Cranberries with "Dreams" in 1992, but my favourite their single was "Animal Instinct", peaked at # 2 in 1999.
It was impossible to get additional # 1 against Geri, Britney, Shania and main hit from Sixpence None The Richer.

325 Underworld - Second Toughest In The Infants
Not as many big tracks as most Underworld albums but it is just great as a record to just stick on an just let it play, a proper album I guess. It was their 4th album and 2nd with Darren Emerson and reached #9 in the Uk in 1996. They included 'Born Slippy' on this album when re-issued.

324 Ben Folds Five - Whatever And Ever Amen
Not my usual taste at the time but one of my DJ mates introduced me to them through 'Underground' we may hear from that album in a while by this 2nd album I was a fan. I don't think this as good an album as their debut but its still really good with some huge singles. It reached #30 in the UK and #42 in the US

323 Dubstar - Goodbye
Very timely with a brand new album out now. Dubstar were one of the biggest bands in our flat and we all went to see them around about this record and my mate Chris got to meet her, git. So underrated and shame they didnt stay around longer. Its basically more of them same from 'Disgraceful' maybe a bit dancier, a bit like St Etienne meets Jesus Jones. The album reached #18 in 1997 in the UK.

322 Buffalo Tom - Let Me Come Over
The third album from the Boston Alt Rockers and probably the one that got them noticed here most following their previous indie hits like 'Birdbrain'. Buffalo Tom have always been one of the bands that I am a fan of that many people didn't know its a shame as they were great, still are their comeback record was pretty decent.
