A UK No.3 in the summer of 1990 from the film Pretty Woman but i've just learnt tonight while listening to Sounds Of The 80s that it was originally released at Christmas 1987 where it had the slightly long title of It Must Have Been Love (Christmas For The Broken Hearted)

Yes, the original version has the line "It's a hard Christmas day", whereas the later, more common version substitutes the word 'Christmas' for 'Winter'.
I always include it on my festive playlist every year.

I was aware of that fact since the Pretty Woman film soundtrack single; and especially around the Oscars 1991 when it was ineligible for Best Song because it was a rehash of an older release (which peaked at Sweden #4 1987). In fact I think it was due to one Gary Davies playing it on his Radio 1 show around Christmastime.
