Have to remember that this is also a rock forum so lets have some classic rock. Brand new single from Whitesnake taken from new album 'Flesh & Blood'.

Explicit communications with a 14 year old is all kinds of sick and should be treated with accordingly but we all love Bowie's music still and he actually slept with multiple 13 and 14 year olds. Crazy world we live in when that is ok to some because he is likeable (or makes the industry hundreds of millions?), same with 20 or more other populor musicians outed so I would be dissapointed if his music vanished, I'm glad the FBI are involved though as the media circus is always a joke, guilty when charged not guilty when accused imo. The truth often gets lost when it's trial by media so at least we will have an outcome nobody can argue with when it is all over Back to the music. Loving the new Foals song Name them.
As a Bowie nut who has frequented a couple of Bowie websites including one which I am a moderator for and am privy to its inner sanctum (which I have been for a decade). I know the very specifics of said allegations which can easily be rebutted whether in the context of their time, or the fact that Bowie was a savvy enough cookie to know the law & the age of consent in said country so that he did nothing illegal (certainly in comparison to the King of Rock & Roll EP or the gaslighting King of Pop MJ).
Of course a lot of that does not look good from the prism of 2019; just as a lot of Winston Churchill's opinions look equally erroneous in retrospect, which does not justify the Owen Jones of the world embarrassing themselves with left-wing political correctness b****cks; or right wing newspapers causing a sh*t storm in 2019 over Ant & Dec/Little Britain/The League of Gentlemen racial profiling in comedy from 15 years ago; or the fact you will never see reruns of the Black & White Minstrel Show (Margaret Thatcher's favourite TV show); Love Thy Neighbour; Till Death Us Do Part/In Sickness and in Health; It Ain't Half Hot Mum; on Cable TV; etc.
But Rock'n'Roll has always been misogynistic as evidenced by this 1968 track which Ryan Adams has covered in concert before:
I just find it ironic you bring up an artist who has been one of the most, if not the most progressive & overt in terms of changing the way we as a society view and treat females, non Caucasians & the LGBT movement today.
I could go through through a list of the major pop & rock artists of the 20th Century and give examples of a sizeable minority if not even a majority of those acts behaviour which they got away with then, but which would be unacceptable, and career damaging, if not more serious today from a point of law. (I still have my 1982 copy of Rock & Roll Babylon where some of the innuendo & allegations around certain people around the music industry including a few who were not very rock'n'roll has since come to fruition (Savile, Harris)).
(Although none have as far as I'm aware got away with actual murder unlike allegedly a handful of 20th Century Hollywood male film stars).
The point is with Ryan Adams (& others who may well be outed) is it is not the 1970s where they could get away with that Robin Askwith sex "comedies"/late period Carry On type "You Dirty Old Man" misogynistic behaviour but the 2010s....

Bowie fans defending Bowie on a Bowie fan worship site, bet that's like going on a Christian website and telling them god isn't real, mentioning anything that doesn't make him out to be the messiah wont go down well hehe, not really worth going into if you know the allegations already, it doesn't even have to be true in 2019 to ruin careers
I just find it sad Ryan Adams (insert ANYONE's name here) has been dropped by all his sponsors, his new single has been blacklisted by the radio, his new album cancelled, his career ruined, his tour likely cancelled and all we have is an accusation, no charge, no trial just a newspaper article by the newspaper that was at the forefront of claiming Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, even the girl in question declined the newspapers approach and refused to comment, trial by media, guilty until proven innocent, 2019 isn't as progressive as people think. Its like we learnt nothing after the Cliff Richard case, the poor bloke nearly killed himself over it and he was innocent so until someone is convicted that is all I have to say

As for the Bowie websites in question. You really have not been on them, or know the workings of their inner sanctum. For starters they are a bunch of Queen Bitches; and secondly they are highly critical of a number of things he has done musically & otherwise over things that most people would not care about. Besides a lot of the time nowadays his discussing former posters from the site a number of whom have become quite successful, and one whom is stratospherically successful.
However, the very fact you have chosen to single out David Bowie when his misdemeanors were minor (pun intended) and at no point illegal for their time & place (apart from the homosexuality, which is now OK).
When you could have named any number of musicians such as Chuck Berry who amongst his many misdemeanors raped Tammi Terrell, and then pulled a gun on an understandably irate Marvin Gaye. So Motown founder Berry Gordy knowing it was pointless going to the Police on a "black on black" issue, took action by getting the Duck Walker blacklisted from US Black music radio stations, which killed his career overnight, until a former wrestler, turned cigar munching UK BBC DJ promoted "My Ding A Ling" ....
Actually a significant number of black male artists from the 1960s behaved in a manner that makes Chris Brown's behaviour seem quite moderate.
Or John Lennon, who famously put a stone in a sock and attacked Stu Sutcliffe with it around the head after a drunken row by the future "Imagine" hitmaker. 15 months later he died of a cerebral haemorrhage, specifically, a ruptured aneurysm likely caused by that incident. He later married his first wife Cynthia and frequently assaulted her; a trick he repeated in 1972 beating up his second wife Yoko Ono, after he had a drunken fling with some fan in a next door hotel room, which lead to his infamous Lost Weekend.
Or Don Henley, who allegedly according to a former member of the Eagles attacked a female popstar girlfriend of the time so resulting in her losing their child.
Or Lindsey Buckingham, who was allegedly chucked out of Fleetwood Mac first time around in 1987 for attempting to strangle Stevie Nicks on her own car bonnet after a band row in pre-tour rehearsals, which had a roadie & Mick Fleetwood not pulled him away who knows what the end result could have been.
Etc ....

I think David Bowie was chosen as Daz knew that would get a reaction but you are just proving though there's so many insert names.
What about Bill Wyman and Mandy Smith we were all a bit shocked at the time she was just a year older than me. She was under age while doing page 3 and while she was involved with Bill.
Did you know that a Calfornian 18 year old who sleeps with a 16 year old in the UK, is commiting statutory rape and can face 20 years when they go back to their own country?
Sex laws are a mess right now and having people tried by media even before you get to that point is even worse.

I didn't single him out per say, I just went with 1 example as I just couldn't list the thousands if not hundreds of thousands of other instances by other artists and I didn't want to list them all on someone else's new music thread, I just knew Bowie would be an example that people would relate to due to his popularity here, back in 1980s, Eagles drummer/singer Don Henley was arrested when police found a drugged, naked underage girls at his house in Hollywood. Henley got a $2,000 fine and two years probation for the offense, there wouldn't be a music industry if they all got the treatment Ryan Adams is getting before charge or even a trial, I only mentioned Bowie because he is popular despite his alleged sexual relations due to what two children Dana Gillespie and Lori Maddox have said publicly about their relationships with him, in 2019 it doesn't have to be true to ruin a career, the allegation is enough these days and for all the progress we have made in the last 50 years this is too far the other way, its almost a witch hunt without trial, forget Bowie, it was one example, maybe a bad one, who knows, the water is muddied enough now to never know the truth, he is just lucky the allegations didn't come out in 2019 at the peak of his career or he would be finished before he started and none of the good he did would ever have happened because an allegation is enough to be dropped, get your album cancelled, blacklisted from the radio and called a nonce without trial or even charge, crazy, am I the only one who thinks its mental? if the FBI find him guilty, lock him up and throw away the key but if they don't charge him adults can decide if they like his music and if they want to buy his music, they don't need the media telling them what they should think

Flying under the radar is the return of Cold Cave, who haven't released an album since 2011, just singles which have mostly past me by. This is the best song I have heard from them since their 2nd album. For fans of Joy Division and Sisters Of Mercy.

This has to be my track of the day , he may be a year earlier but they are just as great. New very shoegazey track from The Chain Gang of 1974, like MBV meets Beach House.

Saturdays song of the day, is the new one from Vistas. they are fast becoming Scotland's answer to The 1975 with a bit of classic indie jangle as well.

Another new artist, second single that I have heard from Hatchie. Her debut album is out June 21. More 90s style shoegazey pop vibes.

Very good. I really enjoyed the Sugar & Spice e.p. so was hoping a full length album was on the cards soon, rather than another four/five track.
