15/07/2019 Idles - Never Fight A Man With A Perm
Whilst Radio 1 continues to worship at the alter of Ed Sheeran (whom even Phil Collins has delivered a vicious accurate critique on) "Annie Mac's Hottest Record" tonight oh dear oh dear. (John Peel really would be well and truly spinning in his grave). I'll stick to Radio 6 Music, and a track Steve Lamacq played today by the Bristol based visceral, earnest post punk band who were triumphantly good at Glastonbury, who can do no wrong in my eyes.
A heathen from Eton on a bag of Michael Keaton x2
He thinks he's suave You're not suave cause you watch get Carter You are a catalogue plastic Sinatra A try hard who should have tried harder
Me oh me oh my Roy You look like a walking thyroid You're not a man you're a gland You're one big neck with sausage hands
You are a Topshop tyrant Even your haircuts violent You look like you're off love island He stood and the room went silent
Clearly those lyrics are too edgy & incendiary for Radio 1 snowflakes listeners and their worship of their 2010s beige pop icons who make Cliff Richard look like Johnny Rotten.
