02/03/2019 Amanda Palmer & Jasmine Power - Mr. Weinstein Will See You Now
With serial woman abuser Ryan Adams getting his UK & European tour cancelled; R. Kelly in jail; and Michael Jackson rightfully getting Glitter/Savile-fied worldwide by radio & music video programmers ... it is only fitting this immensely powerful statement (imagine Marina Diamondis collaborating with Rufus Wainwright) with a suitably arthouse video has been released by the former Dresden Doll.
AP: "this song is dedicated to every woman everywhere around the world who has been trapped in a room with a man who used his power to rip her mind in two".
Tellingly this video has been banned by youtube; as obviously it is offensive to precious sexist snowflakes who eat too much chlorinated chicken; unlike numerous far right fascist spokespeople preaching hate towards non Christians or non Caucasians whom seem to be perfectly acceptable on youtube.

06/03/2019 New Kids On The Block - Boys In The Band (Boy Band Anthem)
Certainly not the best track I could pick today ... But my goodness it is certainly the best video .... of 2019 to date. The reformed late 80s/early 90s Boston boyband pay homage to the boybands that came before & after them in the most hilarious manner (especially the Take That - Back For Good video tribute).
With a little help from:
Class Teacher is Lance Bass (*N'Sync) Female teacher is Debbie Gibson; Piano player Treach (Naughty by Nature) Ricky Bell; Ronnie Devoe & Michael Bivins (New Edition & Bell Biv DeVoe)

07/03/2019 Kehlani - Butterfly
The California born hip hop R&B female singer/rapper's latest release is from her mixtape 'While We Wait' out now. Thankfully, it is not a cover of Neverland paedophile's 2002 USA #14 hit.

08/03/2019 Richard Hawley – Off My Mind
Three really good outstanding indie rock tracks have dropped over the past 24 hours. For me the first single taken from the Sheffield born former Longpigs & Pulp band member's forthcoming 8th studio album 'Further' out 7th June is the pick of them.

09/03/2019 Sam Fender - Hypersonic Missiles
The North Shields singer-songwriter newcomer whom is having a major impact on the 2019 British music scene released this track on Friday, which sounds like The Killers circa their first two (best) albums (when they sounded like Jeff Buckley fronting the E Street Band trying to sound like early Duran Duran). Rather than go for the studio version I've posted this Jimmy Kimmel live performance which shows emphatically he has got the goods as a live act as well.

10/03/2019 The Black Keys - Lo/Hi
Dan Auerbach (guitar, vocals) and Patrick Carney (drums) return after 5 5 year sabbatical with their template fully intact on a very strong song. At the moment it is a stand alone release.

11/03/2019 Arcade Fire - Baby Mine
In 1941 Walt Disney Pictures released its 4th full-length animated movie, a story about a baby circus elephant who discovers an incredible ability. Disney’s original Dumbo was, by today’s standards, not a movie as it lasted just 64 minutes! And if you took out the light affecting, nightmare-inducing psychedelic sequence and a whole lot of racism (that would be completely unacceptable viewing today) it would struggle to be longer than 40 minutes long .... Anyway ....
This is of course the Canadian alternative rock band doing an uncynical straightforward cover of the music of Frank Churchill, with lyrics by Ned Washington. For which Betty Noyes recorded the vocals for the original film version (It lost out on the 1942 Best Original Song Oscar to "The Last Time I Saw Paris" from Lady Be Good – Music by Jerome Kern; Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II; and fellow nominees included "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B" from Buck Privates; & "Chattanooga Choo Choo" from Sun Valley Serenade). In the film, Dumbo's mother, Mrs. Jumbo, an elephant locked in a circus wagon, cradles her baby Dumbo with her trunk while this lullaby is sung.

13/03/2019 Vampire Weekend - Sunflower
The New York rock trio have released this entertaining video with a couple of cameos. However, best not watch it if you have a hangover or are feeling dizzy. It was one of the second batch of two songs dropped on Friday, the George Harrison flavoured "Big Blue" runs it close.

14/03/2019 Carly Rae Jepsen - Now That I Found You
This brilliant pop video which deserves to go viral has dropped in the past few hours of the Canadian's latest single released two week's ago. If you love Cats; & love the film Breakfast At Tiffany's; then you'll love this video.

15/03/2019 Polyplastic - My Prescription
I heard this track on Radio 6 Music last night, and thought this deserves the attention of more people; this LA Post Punk new wave duo sound like Franz Ferdinand doing a catchy track which sounds like a cross between Bauhaus & Soft Cell.

19/03/2019 Man & The Echo - A Capable Man
Imagine Franz Ferdinand meets 10cc getting a Sleaford Mods DIY "makeunder" .... and you have this glib satirical number. Man & The Echo are a Liverpudlian quartet named after a Yeats poem.

Man and the Echo came up on a Spotify playlist a couple weeks ago which led me to listen to more of their output. I likened them to Frank Ferdinand and The Divine Comedy.

20/03/2019 Lizzo ft Missy Elliott - Tempo
This hip hop track is the third advance single following (2019's ROTY to date IMHO) “Juice” and its title track “Cuz I Love You” of this pop/R'n'B/hip-hop diva's 19th April release.
