Brazil's 100% record looked to be under threat when they trailed Venezuela but three goals in the last 20 minutes ensured the five-time champions made it nine wins out of nine. Their lead at the top is now eight points as Argentina dropped points yet again, drawing a blank in Paraguay. Ecuador move ahead of Uruguay into 3rd, while Colombia remain in the playoff spot after drawing with the latter. Brazil have 27 points halfway through their campaign. In qualifying for the 2018 World Cup, 27 points was enough for a top 4 finish.
