What an easy group for Scotland No, seriously, Group B is a political conundrum, USA hate Iran, and vice versa, the UK has just settled a long outstanding debt to free Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe from Iran, and there is no love lost between England V Scotland, or Wales V England, plus Scotland have twice stopped Wales getting to the world cup in 1978 & 1986. This is the group where all the focus will be on.

Jermaine Jenas actually did a solid (if slightly robotic) job of hosting the draw. Jonathan Pearce was typically awful. Had no clue about the limitations preventing teams being drawn together and at one point he had Austria in the draw. The BBC's South American expert Tim Vickery wasn't much better.

Yeah I dont know how Jenas got the job, but he handled/coordinated it all really well. I love how everyone is talking about when England face Scotland or Wales, I think Ukraine will beat both if they play.

If Ukraine were at home (not that they would be playing there), I would agree, but they have to go to Glasgow, then potentially Cardiff. A huge ask to win two games like that away from home.

The kickoff times and venues for the group stage have been announced by FIFA and the opening game of the tournament will be Senegal v Netherlands. England v Iran will be the second game, kicking off at 1pm UK time, followed by Qatar v Ecuador and the final match of the day will be USA v Wales/Scotland/Ukraine.
England's other two group games will kick off at 7pm UK time. Should Scotland or Wales qualify, their second group game against Iran would kick off at 10am UK time.
Also, for the final round of group games, the early kickoffs will be at 3pm UK time.

Looks like I'll be taking that Monday off, then...
Shades of 2010 with England's draw, and we all remember how _that_ went. Strange how some matches seem to come up every world cup (Arg-Mex, Fra-Den, Bra-Swi).
Group H possibly the most exciting for me.

I don't recall Channel 4 ever showing an England men's game before. I think they did show the women's Euros a few years ago but they've shown very little football since they stopped showing the Italian league.

Qualifying will officially finish in September due to the abandoned Brazil v Argentina game being played then for some stupid reason. Trying to find why this is being played so late but can't find anything.
There was suppose to be a friendly match between them being played at the MCG in Australia in mid-June but that got abandoned too apparently, as Argentina refused to travel to Australia - causing a backlash from the local government.

EUROPEPlayoff Semi-final: Ukraine are 90 minutes away from a sensational and emotional World Cup qualification after overcoming a disappointing Scotland at Hampden Park. Goals from Andriy Yarmolenko and Roman Yaremchuk either side of half-time put Ukraine 2-0 up, and although Callum McGregor pulled one back with 11 minutes remaining thanks to a mistake from keeper Heorhiy Bushchan, the win was sealed when Artem Dovbyk raced clear to make it 3-1 with the last kick of the game. Ukraine now face Wales in Cardiff on Sunday for a place at the World Cup. The winners will go into Group B with England, Iran and the USA.
