Match 16, Bristol County Ground: Bangladesh v Sri Lanka No play due to rain - both teams awarded 1 pointFor the first time in World Cup history, a third game is washed out in the same tournament and more rain is forecast. In a game both teams would've hoped to win to stand a chance of progressing, the abandonment does neither any favours.

Match 17, Taunton County Ground: Australia 307 all out (49) Warner 107, Finch 82; Amir 5-30 Pakistan 266 all out (45.4) Imam-ul-Haq 53; Cummins 3-33 Australia win by 41 runsMan of the Match: David Warner After their pedestrian batting against India was criticised, Australia looked set for a massive score after putting on 146 for the 1st wicket. However, wickets fell regularly after that and they again failed to bat out their 50 overs. Pakistan scored well but lost wickets too often and despite resistance from the tail, they fell short.

Match 18, Trent Bridge: India v New Zealand No play due to rain, both teams awarded 1 pointA 4th washed out game. Before this tournament there had only been 8 in the history of the World Cup since the first tournament in 1975. The biggest criticism of this tournament has been aimed at the lack of reserve days, with only the semi-finals and final having them.

Excellent bowling performance by England to dismiss the Windies for 212 but Jason Roy and Eoin Morgan both left the field with injuries.

Match 19, The Rose Bowl: West Indies 212 all out (44.4) Pooran 63; Wood 3-18, Archer 3-30 England 213-2 (33.1) Root 100*; Gabriel 2-49 England win by 8 wicketsMan of the Match: Joe Root An easy win for England, who bowled superbly and weren't made to pay for a couple of dropped catches. England cruised to victory with the bat with Joe Root hitting an unbeaten century in addition to the 2 wickets (both caught and bowled) he took during the Windies' innings. It remains to be seen how serious the injuries to Roy and Morgan are. The West Indies haven't beaten England at the World Cup since the 1979 final.

However, the loss of skipper Karunaratne for 97 sparked a collapse and the Aussies won comfortably in the end to go top of the table.

Match 21, Sophia Gardens: Afghanistan 125 all out (34.1/48) Rashid Khan 35; Tahir 4-29 South Africa 131-1 (28.4) de Kock 68 South Africa win by 9 wickets (DLS) revised target of 127, match reduced to 48 overs per sideMan of the Match: Imran Tahir After a rain delay, Afghanistan lost 4 wickets in 10 balls and the game was pretty much gone. South Africa didn't set the world on fire chasing down their measly target, which won't help their net run rate should they manage to win enough games to challenge for a top 4 spot.
