The Great Pottery Throw Down is returning to TV screens – less than a year after it was cancelled. The show was controversially axed last July by the BBC, despite audience figures well in excess of three million. But almost immediately a petition was launched online which was signed by more than 30,000 fans calling for it to be reinstated. Now Love Productions, the company which makes it, has advertised for contestants to appear on a third series of the popular show. Ceramic designer Keith Brymer Jones, who was a judge on the show, has confirmed he will continue his role on the relaunched series. But he is remaining tight-lipped about any possible changes to the format or line-up. Keith, who is hoping to relocate his ceramics business to Spode, said: “It’s going to be bigger and better than ever. “I’m extremely delighted it’s coming back, it has been a long time coming. “I was blown away by the petition, it made me very emotional. I cried when I saw it.” It is understood the new-look show will be broadcast on Channel 4. The first two series were filmed at Middleport Pottery, which is again expected to feature as a prime location in season three. First screened in 2015, Throw Down followed the fortunes of a group of hopefuls as they competed for the prestigious title of top potter. Each week, they were set a different ceramics challenge. I wanna live in Adams fairyhouse ! Also loved Sals engine thingy. I couldn't decide which of them should be Potter of the Week.....and then they gave it to 'Alanis Morrisettes' lighthouse (which was also fab but still..... ) Also, I think the leaving contestant should be given a bat to beat the judge with on the way out, so he actually has a reason to cry.

I watched this last night for the first time ever. There was a grown man there who cries when he sees a pretty pot !!! What on EARTH is going on!? But definitely thought the fairyhouse was super impressive, and the only reason I'll probably tune in next week

Suz got the boot last week. I loved her bark heart bowl, even if the fruit was crap and I suppose it was meant to be more about the fruit than the bowl. Peter(?)s paper bag bowl was clever. Shenyue's bowl had nothing but green fruit and wins. Alon with his mad long balancing bendy planks for a bowl = This week I liked Shenyue's vases best, but Hannah won. No one got the boot Next week Dolly !
