Group D: England progress to the last 16 once again after dominating Argentina though the margin of victory should've been much more. It was deja vu for Scotland as they found themselves 2-0 down at half-time before pulling a goal back late on. They must beat Argentina if they are to have any chance of being one of the best 4 3rd place teams. A draw for England against Japan will mean they win the group. It might have been the point to play some fringe players though in the 2nd half? And I expect if the US were ever on the end of the 13-0 hammering, you'd be criticising the other team for scoring and celebrating... And great achievement by Marta, but it has to be seem separately from Klose's record, they are two different sports/competitions. I can assure you that if the U.S. were defeated as heavily my criticism would be confined to the U.S. players and coaching staff.

Only watching the England games in the group stages and only seen about half of the first two games, which is just as well as haven't been impressed so far. Should have been a comfortable win against Scotland and made very hard work of beating Argentina last night in what was the easiest match in the group, and I hadn't realised there was also a missed penalty. Hope they improve as the tournament goes on.

Group E: Holland and Canada both progress to the last 16 with relatively comfortable wins. They will face each other to determine who finishes top of the group. The results give additional hope to Scotland in terms of finishing as one of the best 4th place teams. Group F: There were emotional scenes as Thailand scored in stoppage time against Sweden. The Swedes were already 4-0 up by then and added a 5th from the penalty spot. The USA were again 3-0 up at half-time in their game against Chile but a fantastic goalkeeping performance by Christiane Endler and a Carli Lloyd penalty miss meant the world champions didn't add to the score in the second half. This weekend's results mean that 4 points will be enough to get through to the last 16 (3rd place in Groups E and F will only manage at most 3 points), which means that Japan are definitely through to the last 16. It also means that a draw between Spain and China tomorrow will guarantee both teams going through...

Pretty easy for the U.S. It took Sweden 82 minutes to score against Chile whereas the U.S. had the game win before half-time with 3 goals.
As stated above it could have easily been quite a few more but for an inspired goalkeeper.
Roll on the group decider.

Group A: France finish with a 100% record in the group for the first time, but only thanks to Wendy Renard's twice-taken VAR penalty. Norway finish 2nd while Nigeria face a nervous wait. The result means Scotland are likely to qualify for the last 16 if they beat Argentina, unless Chile score a hatful against Thailand. Group C: Marta's penalty clinched a place in the last 16 for Brazil. However, they finish 3rd in the group after Australia beat Jamaica 4-1, with Sam Kerr scoring all 4 goals. The results mean Australia face Norway in the next round, while Brazil will most likely face France. Jamaica are out but did score their first goal of the tournament.
