Group F: Chile miss out on the last 16 by one goal after missing an 86th-minute penalty against Thailand. Instead, Nigeria hang on to 4th 3rd place spot. The USA finish the group with a 100% record. What a save in the pen shootout between Norway and Australia, and Norway were deadly with their finishing!

Oh wow at England v Cameroon, never seen anything like it! Players complaining about decisions made by var??? And almost refusing to carry on playing! And var got wrong an elbow that should have been a red card, a spitting incident that just went unchallenged, and a bad tackle at the end that should have been red. Embarassing, Phil Neville let rip in the interview!

I agree with pretty much everything Phil Neville said. The Cameroon players totally lacked discipline and the referee was very weak.

That referee needed a firm grip of the match, it was a very woeful match to watch, on the plus side I'm looking forward to our match against on Norway on Thursday, especially how Norway handled Australia.

2nd Round: Germany maintain their record of reaching at least the quarter-finals of every Women's World Cup with a comfortable win over Nigeria. Norway needed penalties to beat Australia, who had Alanna Kennedy sent off in extra time.

2nd round: In one of the most bizarre World Cup matches ever seen, England kept their heads to see off Cameroon, who felt hard done by by a number of VAR decisions and ended up completely losing their discipline. They almost refused to continue playing after Ellen White's goal on the stroke of half-time was rightly allowed to stand after initially being ruled out for offside. England survived a scare early in the second half when Cameroon had a goal ruled out via the tightest of VAR offside decisions, after which Alex Greenwood made the game safe for England. For all Cameroon's protestations, on another day, with a stronger referee, they could easily have been reduced to 8 players. England set up a quarter-final showdown with Norway, who they knocked out at the last 16 stage four years ago. Hosts France progress to the quarter-finals thanks to Amandine Henry's extra time winner against Brazil.

2nd round: The USA showed the first signs of fallibility, needing 2 penalties, the second of which was very soft, to edge past Spain. The champions will now face hosts France in the quarter-finals. Sweden set up a last 8 meeting with Germany after a tight victory over Canada, who had a second half penalty saved by former Chelsea keeper Hedvig Lindahl. The match had an unusual ending which saw a VAR check for a possible penalty taking place after the final whistle. The spot kick wasn't given and Sweden's win was confirmed.

2nd round: Italy's impressive run continues with victory over China. Holland needed a last-minute penalty to see off Japan. The results mean 7 of the 8 quarter-finalists are from Europe. Italy and Holland are the only teams remaining who have never reached the semis and they face each other in the last 8.
