145 Another Sky - Capable of Love #7 www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCRxPnF1KmQThe most Radiohead sounding single yet from the South London band even the video is very Radiohead 144 PIXIES - Catfish Kate #17 www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzMff4KMf88I love the melody/chorus on this it has such a 'Surfer Rosa' sound, it would have been amazing with Kim though 143 Catfish and the Bottlemen - Conversation #8 www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lScbCIgLxwAnother solid big anthem from the Catfish boys. 142 Inhaler - Ice Cream Sundae #15 www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijRRdjp_6N0Catfish need to be watching their back as these Irish lads will be playing arenas in 3 years time, just you wait. If U2 had listened to more new wave rather than post punk, thats where we would be. I cant help the U2 comparisons as he sounds the most like Bono on this song. 141 Drenge - Autonomy #7 In 2019 they somehow had one of their biggest ever hits in my chart with this brilliant post-punk tune, they were such an underrated band

140 Tame Impala - It Might Be Time #13 www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hZ_wTx_kWgStill climbing in my chart right now, its the first track taken from their forthcoming album 'The Slow Rush' 139 Fickle Friends - Amateurs #12 www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlW7SegKG2kAnother first single from a new record which we will hopefully see in 2020, much more pure pop song with this one. 138 SWMRS: April In Houston #8 www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IpTxQu_wGUOne of the more interesting bands on Fueled By Ramen who still retaining their quirky punkiness, almost Modest Mouse like this one. 137 BLOXX - Headspace #12 www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyP8S4vy7RUMore indie bands going pop and this is by far the poppiest song yet from the London 4 piece. 136 Angels & Airwaves - Rebel Girl #10 With Blink 182 and Simple Creatures doing well in 2019, it was only right that Tom Delonge's band returned as well, this is one of the best songs from that band for a long long time, he was always my favourite Blink member.

135 Modest Mouse - Poison the Well #9 www.youtube.com/watch?v=t73WWp3cCigModest Mouse just keep releasing amazing songs even if they don't have an album to go with them. 134 Vampire Weekend - Stranger #13 www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VH8T-_cRSMRadio single featuring Danielle Haim, lovely little song. 133 HAIM - Now I'm In It #10 www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-UnzRM24IMAnd now here is the whole band with a very HAIM song but maybe not as brilliant as I hoped it woudl be. 132 Blood Command - Afraid Of Water #6 www.youtube.com/watch?v=fviEbGVf8SsNow a quite random find, which I heard on Daniel P Carter, the band are from Norway and they sound a bit like a female fronted Offspring with some classic rock leanings, there is some mighty fine axing on this. 131 Stand Atlantic - Hate Me (Sometimes) #10 One of the best pop/punk bands around and this is their current stand alone singles

130 FLASH FORWARD "Give Me All Your Love" (feat. DEAF HAVANA) #11 www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIwkMwIdm6QNot sure how much Flashforward effects this song, it pretty much sounds like the kind of song we expect from Deaf Havana anyway, its maybe slightly beatier but hardly a dance track. 129 blink-182 - Darkside #21 www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cbSPNZryzoAnother song which got a bit lost in a flood of grats but this is the stand out song from '9' and really should have been a top 10 hit in my chart. 128 Mallory Knox - Livewire #12 www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKJWXWdEAwYI really felt Mallory Knox were on borrowed time when they lost their original singer, still decent rock but all the magic has gone. 127 Keep Shelly In Athens - Bendable #7 www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViTuUJ1xvpcThis is gorgeous from one of the best dream pop groups going, it is very 80s but wouldn't sound out of place at a late night bar in San Antonio either. 126 Barns Courtney - You And I #11 He always has the best videos in each batch so need to give them the big picture again!

125 Dinosaur Pile Up - Thrash Metal Cassette #11 www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKBD-nTSb-wOne of the most welcome returns of 2019 and this was a furious return and of course they had better to come. 124 Courteeners - Heavy Jacket #16 This was way better than I expected it to be, it was almost like Foals. 123 LOW ISLAND - Search Box #9 www.youtube.com/watch?v=NALuU_buxUcDance music find sit hard to push through into myc hart these days as there is so much other stuff that gets in before it but this baggy dance tune, had to be huge! Its a bit like Beloved meets LCD Soundsystem! 122 Keane - The Way I Feel #9 www.youtube.com/watch?v=VM5_w4hNlbsYes Keane in my top 10 in 2019 yes I am amazed but this was a huge comeback song!! 121 YUNGBLUD - hope for the underrated youth #12 www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DA-Hv6GM2AHis biggest song for me of 2019, this is everything I love about him, I still have hope that YUNGBLUD will be massive, roll on 2020, this is an emo punk anthem!!

getting serious now most of these I wanted in my top 100 120 The Bottom Line - Gone #11 www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBuk34f-CZ82019 has really been a year for brilliant pop/punk from all over the world, these guys are from London and sound like a cross between New Found Glory and Alien Ant Farm, I honestly could have seen this in the charts in 2002 119 Editors - Frankenstein #9 www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hj61PRYcBeAThis is a great track to lead a Greatest Hits album, I almost entered it into Halloweenvison but wasn't sure if the album would be too big a hit. 118 BODEGA /// SHINY NEW MODEL #12 Post punk also very strong in 2019 and Bodega were definitely one of the best in that genre, this was their biggest song of the year. 117 The Amazons - Doubt It #13 www.youtube.com/watch?v=By8tHPlnnOcNot sure why this Amazons song stood above the others we have had so far, I guess its a bit heavier and I think I heard it a lot! 116 Sea Girls - 'Open Up Your Head' #8 www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ueHwEFiIewAnother great indie pop song, they can just do these without even trying and they haven't released an album yet!

115 PVRIS - Death of Me #8 www.youtube.com/watch?v=sC0xkQA38t4Lead track taken from their Hallucinations EP, you woudl think some of Billy Eilish's success would be rubbing off on Pvris as they are not a million miles away from her sound. 114 The Dose - Vervain #7 www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIe7lDXJBi4Grunge is dead, long live grunge!! This is just epic. This must be the best grunge song that hasn't been made by any of the old guard this decade!! These are all too good! 113 FIDLAR - Flake #14 www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfGK9x8ChEkFidlar very unlucky to miss the top 100 with both their singles and it was one of my albums of the year 112 Vampire Weekend - This Life #6 www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwkrrU2WYKgThis is lovely and one of the best lead singles Vampire Weekend have released from an album, one of the songs of the Summer. 111 FIDLAR - By Myself #11 I really have placed this way too low, this should be top 50!! just a fun, brilliant alt punk song

110 blink-182 - Blame It On My Youth #13 www.youtube.com/watch?v=SleFHBDZb8kI messed up my commentary as we had another Blink song too come, how could I forget as this song is just huge! 109 DUNE RATS – No Plans #7Possibly video of the year certainly one of the silliest, if you want pop punk with strong Aussie accents this is what you will get!! 108 Squid - The Cleaner #11 www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3XY6FPrbuMI am really excited for this band in 2020, this is more brilliant post punk, so many sounds, these guys are going to be very big next year. It suddenly dawned on me who they sound like , its DEVO. 107 FEVER 333 - BURN IT #2 www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuNLJuSUDqoA massive hit at the start of the year when there was less competition but that doesn't taken anything away from this, they are one of the most exciting and important bands in rock today!! Its like Linkin Park on speed. 106 The Big Moon - Your Light #5 www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OijD72t4XYPhew need to chill a bit after that, now some perfectly crafted indie pop from the Mercury Prize nominees.Cute video as well.

So what 5 songs narrowly miss out in a prestigious place in the top 100 105 Hot Milk - Are You Feeling Alive? #10 Well we have plenty more to come from them so 105 is fine, one of the most pop sounding songs they have released so far but just so good. I will admit it that Han is my pop star crush of 2019. 104 Coldplay - Arabesque #8 www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJNG3WmsOs4One of the most alternative songs we have had from Coldplay in an age sounding more like Elbow or The Doves both contemporaries of the band in the 00s. 103 Mallory Knox - White Lies #8 www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsOqi64g5BYFirst single with a different singer and hope was not totally lost at this point, I must admit I didn't mind the harder sound as the distinct Mallory Knox melodies were still there just about. 102 Longwave - "If We Ever Live Forever" #6 www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWhcnp7gkgMLongwave were one of my favourite under the radar bands of the 00s and I came across this new song by chance and it still has the magic of those early tracks, walking the line between Indie revival and emo in such a perfect way. That is totally a Coldplay riff though. 101 The Black Keys - Lo/Hi #7 www.youtube.com/watch?v=JILfwu5AWIQSo the unlucky 101 comes from Black Keys although this was more of a grat than proper single very reminiscent of 'Spirit in The Sky'

Because of the early cut off some great songs are missing out in places on this list and will be added later but just so you can see, these all should have made it! These both should be top 100 and are both potential number ones!! Creeper -Born Cold #2 www.youtube.com/watch?v=bu-12_o5zZkNada Surf - Something I Should Do #8 www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1YIf-AIH18These top 200 Bring Me The Horizon - Ludens #12 La Roux - International Woman of Leisure #13 Coldplay - Everyday Life #14 DMA's -Silver #16 The Naked And Famous - Sunseeker #18 Feeder - Criminal #19 The Orielles - Come Down On Jupiter #20 Sam Fender - Saturday #21 Hot Milk - Candy Coated Lie$ #22These top 300 Beck - Uneventful Days #22Billie Eilish - everything i wanted #23 Josh Homme & Mike Kerr - Crucifire #25 Friendly Fires, Friend Within - Offline (with Friend Within) #26 Cage The Elephant - Social Cues #27

100 CHVRCHES - Death Stranding #9
Taken from the PS4 game of the same name, not classic Chvrches but good enough to make the cut.

99 Crown The Empire - BLURRY (out of place) #12
A band that a pretty new to me but they are very much in the same category as Bring Me The Horizon sounding like that band from maybe 5 years. They are from Dallas, Texas and taken from the album 'Sudden Sky'

98 Of Monsters and Men - Alligator #6
Best song from the band since their debut album and it reminds me of T'Pau's rockier moments which is no bad thing. Taken from the Icelandic bands third album 'Fever Dream'

97 Twin Atlantic - Novocaine #4
Brilliant lead single taken from Twin Atlantic's 5th album 'POWER' after a 3 year gap. They are a huge live draw and too get to 5 albums as a rock band with still no hits show they must be keeping their record company happy.

96 The 1975 - Frail State of Mind #5
A very different sound for The 1975 sounding like 'Too Time Too Time' through a dubstep/Burial blender. Not my favourite thing they have done but still looking forward to the new record.

95 Sports Team - M5 #4
I didn't actually remember this being so big in my chart, they tend to be more of 40-75 band for me but this is something special though, just a brilliant Brit pop track reminding me Divine Comedy meets Blur with a hint of Cud. You want to hear this now don't you? Think Earl Purple this is up your street, pardon the pun.

94 VALERAS - Intentions #4
I know I said earlier this band was quite a mediocre but steady success in my chart this year but I forgot the did have one huge hit, this. Still with the emo pop sound but this song is just a higher standard and compares better to their obvious influence here No Doubt.

93 Willie J Healey - Songs For Joanna #5
Another song I think many of you will like, you is totally new to me but he reminds of new wave acts like The Cars or Jonathan Richman. Will follow his career from this point.

92 The Ninth Wave - Imitation #9
I wasn't sure about this new Scottish band at first as did we need another Joy Division/Interpol type band in 2019, it really seemed like the ninth wave of this sound but I gave in, it totally is as good as Editors or White Lies so top 10 they get.

91 Bring Me The Horizon - in the dark #3
Just love this one of my favourite songs on the album so glad it got to be a single, great Matrix inspired video starring Forrest Whittaker, which was a bit of a coup for them.
