Surprised at the popularity of Reach Out. I wouldn’t even put it in there top 5 best songs.

1) Otis Redding - (Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay 2) Animals - House Of The Rising Sun
4 Four Tops - Reach Out I'll Be There
After much indecision couldn't separate the first tie.

Round 8 (Semi Final) Result:
1 Otis Redding - (Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay 8.5 2 Animals - House Of The Rising Sun 10.5
3 Marvin Gaye - I Heard It Through The Grapevine 8.5 4 Four Tops - Reach Out I'll Be There 10.5
This means we have a final between two Transatlantic chart toppers. A battle of Rock vs Soul. The 1960s British Beat classic against the Motown Detroit Classic. The stunning vocals of Eric Burden vs Levi Stubbs.
I have set up a Poll for you to vote for one or the other option. You have until Monday 22nd June 2020 19:00 Hours to vote.

I was hoping for an Otis v. Marvin final, but these two are great, too.
Voted.

Good final. They are certainly up there with the best songs of the 60s, even if I voted for the other 2 in the semis.

I wonder if Otis was against Marvin who would have won, both classics, but I know which way I'd vote.

As it should be at the semi stage two close results.
Voted for The Four Tops but that was by default - much as I like Motown Reach Out is not one of my favourite Tops' tracks but I just don't get Grapevine.
Tough call in the final.

I wonder if Otis was against Marvin who would have won, both classics, but I know which way I'd vote. Would have been Otis for me - easily the best of the semi tracks.

I suppose it's possible the song beaten by the winner in the semi could have beaten the other finalist.
