I adore 'Eternal flame'. For me it's up there with the best pop ballads of all-time.

True, and it was the music we slow danced to on our wedding day, which is why it is a lot lower now I'm not with her, hate hearing it.

Maybe one day you'll look back at it as a "nice part" of your life. I do sometimes wonder that if I hadn't met Carol it could have been someone else and worked out better than it did, especially as I may have had a larger family but I can't change things and at the time Carol and I got on really well.
Songs have over-performed in my chart due to what was going on in my life at the time, in particular "Beautiful Son" by Without Gravity which conveniently came out just before my son was born. I don't know of any songs that had the negative effect.

I like Lionel Richie but Hello is a bit of a drag.
On the other hand Eternal Flame is a great ballad.

I loved Wham! but most of George Michael's solo efforts including A Different Corner leave me cold.

Eternal Flame is gawjuss! I like Hello, but now the video makes me think of Barry making Laineyheads in The Goldbergs. A Different Corner is probably my fav song on the whole list ! How could ya! This doesn't make my prediction of Fast Love being no1 seem like much of a sure thing...although (unless I'm mixing Andy up with another poster), I thought he once entered If You Were There in one of the forum contests. Anyone who loves that, is bound to love Fast Love. Aren't they? I don't know what to think anymore.

Maybe one day you'll look back at it as a "nice part" of your life. Yeah, I get what you mean, I came across this quote a few days ago "Don't be sad that it's over, be glad that it happened" And I get it I really do, but I wanted it to keep happening, our future was together, we talked about it, but yeah I need to move on.

Prince - TMBGITW, the only Prince single I ever bought.
Spandau Ballet - True - I like it but it's their only song I could hum.
Take That - Back For Good , criminally low!
Bright Eyes - I like this, but more familiar with the Stephen Gately version.
USA for Africa - We Are The World. Totally corny but still one of the best all star charity singles.

Scrolling down the last three, I triple gasped!
I've never bought anything by Chesney but any time I've seen him on tv, he comes across as a really nice guy. If I saw his album in a charity shop for not much more than a thrupennybit, I'd probably buy it.
I've long time loved BFizz - Cheryl,Mike,Jay and the other one would be my runners up in this countdown.
I bought the 7'' single of George Michael at the time. I prefer much of his other stuff though.
