Been hearing this on that Samsung ad, and thought I'd track down what it is as it's a tune! Some parts remind me of Public Enemy - Harder than you think, but the sample at the start is the Delmonts and Na na na hey hey hey kiss him goodbye. How is stuff like this not even getting near the charts, even on the back of a big advert?

presumably because its not on the right playlists
it does appear on iTunes every so often although I don't remember it making the top 100 yet

You wish/hope a radio station would come along and break the mold, and play new music not because they've been paid, but because it's new music that more people would like to hear. Sam has been watching the music video channels quite a bit with being off, and it's exactly the same stuff the radio is playing over and over again. I'd love to watch/listen to an actual new music section. I'm living in dreamland though...

I remember hearing it when it came out last summer. It would've made my monthly chart if it had been a top 40 back then. BBC also used it as their theme for last year's World Athletics Championships.

In terms of radio stations, 6 Music and Radio X (evening playlist only) are the only ones for me that are any good. Beyond that, you're relying on finding stuff yourself or through word of mouth.

One more thing worth mentioning is The Sunday Night Music Club with Danielle Perry on Absolute Radio. A big deviation from their usual output with a good mixture of old and new songs. A shame they can't make it a nightly show considering she's on from 7-10 anyway Monday-Thursday.

I've noticed Absolute Radio now has a 20s station online. It's all fairly current stuff and seems quite refreshing, given how stagnant the main station is. Whether it would end up being quite repetitive to listen to every day is another matter.
Just looking through the recently played list and this is what was played in the last 2 hours when I posted this:
Courteeners - Hanging Off Your Cloud Twenty One Pilots - Level Of Concern Killers - Caution Editors - Upside Down Lewis Capaldi - Hold Me While You Wait Florence & The Machine - Light Of Love Nothing But Thieves - Is Everybody Going Crazy? Tom Walker - Better Half Of Me Stereophonics - Hungover For You Fontaines DC - Boys In The Better Land Coldplay - Orphans Haim - The Steps Liam Gallagher - Once Paul Weller - Earth Beat Bombay Bicycle Club - Everything Else Has Gone Wrong Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - Come On Outside Tame Impala - Lost In Yesterday Kings Of Leon - Going Nowhere Strokes - Brooklyn Bridge To Chorus The 1975 - If You're Too Shy Beabadoobee - She Plays Bass Catfish & The Bottlemen - Encore Badly Drawn Boy - Is This A Dream? Magic Gang - Think Lana Del Rey - Doin' Time Dermot Kennedy - Power Over Me Gorillaz - Aries Green Day - Father Of All Sea Girls - Ready For More Blossoms - If You Think This Is Real Life All Time Low - Sleeping In Sam Fender - Hypersonic Missiles Gerry Cinnamon - Where We're Going DMAs - Life Is A Game Of Changing
Some obvious current ones in there and looking back further, you do get the same songs repeated throughout the day but there's enough variation to suggest it might actually be better than Radio X's daytime output.
