I don't have more time on my hands, I work from home.
I have not made a personal chart since 1 September 2018 and the issue is that in order to do so I have to put in a huge effort for make a playlist of current music that I want to listen to then score it up.
I feel too overloaded to do this. With retro charts I can at least go at whatever pace I find comfortable - if that breaks for a couple of weeks I continue where I left off. Plus the playlist makes itself from the UK and US singles charts. The 1970 retro chart I post in every week has been compiled some time ago and I'm just copy-pasting so I'm talking about 1974 and 1957 here.
In any case my chart rarely coincided with the combi-chart other than the occasional "big" song. Nobody else was charting Moment 44 when they took my top 2 positions near the end of my chart era (Milliways charted both songs for one week only). Even Jason Mraz who is a well known name wasn't appearing in anyone else's chart in 2018. (In my chart he had a #1 and a #2 that year).

I understand a lot of people are working from home, and credit to them, but if they need a break, I thought this might be a good idea to pick up a chart or two. The problem for you, and we've been here hundreds of times before was the way you created your playlist. I watched music videos and listened to the radio, but as indie music gets played less, I now check Thorne, Raz Daz, Misterh, Milliways and others charts, and have a quick listen on youtube to see if I like a song and then I add it in. I also use the top 60 from the combi chart and again listen to anything I dont know and add it, or forget it, and it gets me a chart every week. But if you dont have the time fair enough, I give my chart 30 mins a week to add a ferw new songs and kick a few out, that's enough for me.

I don't write personal charts anymore Andy, sorry! I decided to stop writing them as of January 2020.

I did try a little while ago, but I was finding it too difficult to keep up with a chart - if I have time this week I will try and start something up, but I can't make any promises.

I considered doing that so I would still have some form of chart but then when the time came I decided not to catch up. It was the Jewish tradition of Aveilut (mourning) where we refrain from certain entertaining activities including listening to enjoyable music that caused me to stop at the point my father died, which was 1 September 2018, the date of my last chart. That chart was actually compiled the day before, knowing he wouldn't make it through the weekend.

I never stopped compiling mine. I'm sad to say I just stopped posting it on here.
