Yeah mtvrocks annoys me as I'd like new music on there, and there is some, but far less than there used to be

I have some memory that this video premiered in the UK at midnight, so I recorded it and watched it the next day, I'm not making that up am I? Anyway, iconic.
Michael Jackson – Thriller
Next up, one of my fave bands which I discovered with the release of this song, then Dead Heart, and eventually BAB was a Top 10 hit, I went and bought all their previous albums on cd/vinyl right back to their late 70s surfer punk beginnings, all brilliant. Midnight Oil – Beds are burning
Jump forward a few years passed the excellent Blue Sky Mining album, and onto Earth and Sun and Moon, and the controversial debut single about returning an aborigine's bones to his homeland, I still remember seeing them play this live on Later with Jools, brilliant!
Midnight Oil – Truganini
This had to be on here, it was the first 12" I bought, fascinated by the artwork, never seen anything like it, and played it to death, in fact I'm surprised it still plays as good as it does after the plays I got through with it! Found a few of their earlier 7"s on vinyl, and also bought many of the 12" singles after this one, lost interest in them a bit during Technique, but still one of my fave bands.
New Order – Blue Monday

I seem to have lost a chunk of my list, H-M, can think of a couple that should be in there, but will have to see if they all come back to me or not...

It was totally different and iconic, and still stands the test of time.
Nirvana – Smells like teen spirit
I know the lyrics aren't great, but I remember seeing this on the Chart Show, and thinking wow hope that's a hit!
Oasis – Supersonic
I had a Hits 81 album, and it had this on and another track yet to feature, and I always loved them, both not mega hits which I think is criminal, this is hauntingly brilliant.
Passions - I’m in love with a German film star
One of the first singles I ever bought, using a record token given to me as Christmas present, I also purchased Queen and Flash!
Pink Floyd – Another brick in the wall

Plastic Bertrand - Ca plane pour moi This comes from my days of listening to the US charts on a saturday afternoon, this and Little Red Corvette just blew me away, so I was very pleased when Prince cracked the UK as well. Odd to think I was listening to this in 1982 singing about 1999 which seemed eons away, and now here we are in 2020 wondering where the time went! Prince – 1999 Good movie, great song! Psychedelic Furs – Pretty in pink Old tapes from my dad again Ricky Nelson – Hello Mary Lou Classic! Rolling Stones – Paint it black

The other track from that Hits 81 album I love that wasn't a big hit, sad story behind her life after this song as well Susan Fassbender – Twilight Café The 1st album my parents bought me was a Suzi Quatro album, just loved the rockiness of it, and the fact she was a babe in leather helped! Suzi Quatro – Devil gate drive More 70s glam, grew up watching them on totp and loving every single, plus my parents had them, so I could play them loads, Debora was another fave I played loads. T Rex – Children of the revolution Just a classic, and dont get me started on the pisspoor cover version! Undertones – Teenage Kicks Short and to the point and catchy as hell, with a brilliant video, welcome to the White Stripes! White Stripes – Fell in love with a girl Love the video (the band are in it), love the sound, glad to discover a new band. Wolf Alice – Moaning Lisa smile
