For those who have been following my rundown of the All-Time Best Selling All-Female Bands & Groups, and for those who haven't, now is your chance to select your favourites. Here’s how it works. Send me, by PM, a list of your 20 favourite all-female groups or bands. You may select from the 101 acts that were covered in the All-Time Best Selling All-Female Bands/Groups thread. They are listed below alphabetically, chronologically and by sales. You have the option of including a maximum of 3 acts that aren’t listed below. But, they must only include women, and they must have a minimum of three members. (My decision will be final in any dubious cases.) Scoring will be based on inverse points, with 20th place picking up 11 points, and 1st place picking up 30 points. That way, two 20ths will be worth one 8th, and three 20ths will beat one 1st. Thus it will be the group that is liked by the most people, rather than the group that is liked most by a few people, that triumphs. I think about a week should be sufficient for this. If anyone needs more time, let me know. I will do a results show when I have added up the scores. If you wish to include any comments that I can use during the results show, that would be great too. Just make sure that when you send me your PM with your list in order, you put 1st at the top and 20th at the bottom. Here are the 101 acts:- ALPHABETICALLY:- 411 702 3LW All Saints Allure Amazulu Andrews Sisters Atomic Kitten B*Witched Bananarama Bangles Belle & Devotions Belle Stars Beverley Sisters Blackpink Bodysnatchers Brownstone Chiffons Chordettes Cleopatra Clout Coffee Crystals Degress Of Motion ft Biti Destiny's Child Dixie Chicks Dixie Cups Emotions En Vogue Eternal Fierce Fifth Harmony First Choice Frantique Fuzzbox Girl Thing Girls Aloud Girlschool Go-Go's GRL Haim Hepburn Honeyz Jade Kaye Sisters L7 La Belle Epoque LaBelle Lananeeneenoonoo Las Ketchup Little Ladies Little Mix Love Unlimited Luton Girls Choir M.O Madasun Mai Tai Martha Reeves & Vandellas Marvelettes Mary Jane Girls McGuire Sisters Military Wives Mis-Teeq Musique Neon Jungle Nolans N-Tyce Paper Dolls Piglets Pointer Sisters Poni-Tails Precious Pussycat Dolls Reparata & the Delrons Ritchie Family Ronettes Salt-N-Pepa Saturdays Shangri-Las Shirelles Silver Convention Sister Sledge Solid HarmoniE Spice Girls Stargard StooShe Sugababes Supremes SWV Three Degrees Thunderbugs TLC Total Toto Coelo Toys Vanilla Velvelettes Vernons Girls Vixen Wilson Phillips Xscape CHRONOLOGICALLY (by first Top 40 hit *):- *= within a year, they are listed alphabetically 1940 Andrews Sisters 1948 Luton Girls Choir 1951 Beverley Sisters 1954 Chordettes 1955 McGuire Sisters 1957 Kaye Sisters 1958 Poni-Tails 1961 Shirelles 1962 Crystals 1962 Vernons Girls 1963 Chiffons 1963 Ronettes 1964 Dixie Cups 1964 Martha Reeves & Vandellas 1964 Shangri-Las 1964 Supremes 1965 Toys 1967 Marvelettes 1968 Paper Dolls 1968 Reparata & the Delrons 1971 Piglets 1971 Velvelettes 1972 Love Unlimited 1973 First Choice 1974 Three Degrees 1975 LaBelle 1975 Silver Convention 1975 Sister Sledge 1976 Ritchie Family 1977 Emotions 1977 La Belle Epoque 1977 Little Ladies 1978 Clout 1978 Musique 1978 Stargard 1979 Frantique 1979 Nolans 1979 Pointer Sisters 1980 Bodysnatchers 1980 Coffee 1981 Girlschool 1982 Bananarama 1982 Belle Stars 1982 Toto Coelo 1983 Mary Jane Girls 1984 Belle & Devotions 1985 Amazulu 1985 Mai Tai 1986 Bangles 1986 Fuzzbox 1988 Salt-N-Pepa 1989 Lananeeneenoonoo 1989 Vixen 1990 En Vogue 1990 Wilson Phillips 1992 Degress Of Motion ft Biti 1992 L7 1992 TLC 1993 Eternal 1993 Jade 1993 SWV 1995 Brownstone 1995 Go-Go's 1995 Xscape 1996 Spice Girls 1996 Total 1997 All Saints 1997 Allure 1997 N-Tyce 1997 Vanilla 1998 702 1998 B*Witched 1998 Cleopatra 1998 Destiny's Child 1998 Honeyz 1998 Solid HarmoniE 1999 Atomic Kitten 1999 Dixie Chicks 1999 Fierce 1999 Hepburn 1999 Precious 1999 Thunderbugs 2000 Girl Thing 2000 Madasun 2000 Sugababes 2001 3LW 2001 Mis-Teeq 2002 Girls Aloud 2002 Las Ketchup 2004 411 2005 Pussycat Dolls 2008 Saturdays 2011 Little Mix 2011 Military Wives 2012 Haim 2012 StooShe 2013 Neon Jungle 2014 Fifth Harmony 2014 GRL 2016 M.O 2018 Blackpink BY UK SINGLES SALES:- 1 Little Mix 2 Spice Girls 3 Destiny's Child 4 Girls Aloud 5 Supremes 6 Sugababes 7 Saturdays 8 All Saints 9 Pussycat Dolls 10 Bananarama 11 Fifth Harmony 12 TLC 13 Atomic Kitten 14 Eternal 15 B*Witched 16 Andrews Sisters 17 Sister Sledge 18 Three Degrees 19 Salt-N-Pepa 20 Bangles 21 Haim 22 Pointer Sisters 23 En Vogue 24 Nolans 25 M.O 26 Ronettes 27 Crystals 28 Martha Reeves & Vandellas 29 Honeyz 30 Military Wives 31 Mis-Teeq 32 Blackpink 33 Emotions 34 StooShe 35 GRL 36 Cleopatra 37 Shangri-Las 38 Wilson Phillips 39 Amazulu 40 La Belle Epoque 41 Belle Stars 42 Las Ketchup 43 Clout 44 SWV 45 Chiffons 46 Neon Jungle 47 Fuzzbox 48 Mai Tai 49 Shirelles 50 Beverley Sisters 51 Kaye Sisters 52 Brownstone 53 Silver Convention 54 Girlschool 55 Piglets 56 Jade 57 Dixie Chicks 58 Lananeeneenoonoo 59 Fierce 60 Precious 61 First Choice 62 Toys 63 411 64 Degress Of Motion ft Biti 65 Marvelettes 66 Musique 67 Hepburn 68 Toto Coelo 69 Frantique 70 Velvelettes 71 Love Unlimited 72 N-Tyce 73 Go-Go's 74 Vernons Girls 75 Ritchie Family 76 Chordettes 77 Dixie Cups 78 Coffee 79 Mary Jane Girls 80 3LW 81 Luton Girls Choir 82 Poni-Tails 83 Bodysnatchers 84 Stargard 85 Thunderbugs 86 McGuire Sisters 87 702 88 LaBelle 89 L7 90 Total 91 Madasun 92 Vanilla 93 Vixen 94 Girl Thing 95 Xscape 96 Paper Dolls 97 Solid HarmoniE 98 Allure 99 Belle & Devotions 100 Little Ladies 101 Reparata & the Delrons

A great idea, but you should get to play as well, so please PM me your own Top 20, before any votes come in, and then it's fair Also, can you stipulate that entrants must have 20 acts selected, not 5 or 10 or 15?

Totally here for this - however struggling to cull the list down past 40 OK, may get this quickly over and done with and go with gut instinct, otherwise I’m going to keep changing my mind!

I got it down to 32, then culled those where I only like one song, now trying to order the final 22, and cull another couple, have added in one act not on the list, I'm not sure other people will, unless some indie Haveners join in the fun

I only own music by 18 of them, so the remaining two will be a challenge to decide. I could always go randon - might be good news for Luton Girls' Choir

I'm in! I guess maybe we could tag everyone that was interested in the countdown thread as they liked those acts?

I'll do this at the weekend .... But I can see some omissions from that 101 shortlist, most notably my numero uno:
The Pipettes:
An act too country for UK tastes (hence the editing out of Kacey Musgraves & Keith Urban from the BBC1 One World at Home version on Sunday) for mediocre efforts by Little Mix & Rag N' Bone Man:
The Highwomen:
The female trio whom when Berry Gordy Jr heard them, he knew instantly he'd found the new sound for his new Motown act, (The Jackson 5) to shamelessly rip off:
The Honey Cone:
The 00s London based electronic indie pop outfit fronted by the former vocalist of Dubstar:
Client:
The 00s electronic indie pop outfit fronted by the future Little Boots:
Dead Disco:

The 90s Pop Punk quartet from Californian who released a string of albums during the 90s & 00s: The Donnas:
The Sub Pop signed act named after a Talk Talk single:
Dum Dum Girls:
The Swedish indie folk act whom have twice been nominated at the BRITS for Best International Group:
First Aid Kit:
The brilliant current Spanish indie pop rock act whom Radio 6 Music loves:
Hinds:

The late 80s/90s folk rock duo from Atlanta, Georgia: Indigo Girls:
The current London alternative rock act whose first two albums received Mercury Music Award nominations:
Savages:
The current London quartet who are pretty much the female Blossoms:
The Big Moon:
The indie dream pop act from Los Angeles:
Warpaint:
.. You get the idea ...

The biggest omission which is totally shameful, and quite frankly indefensible from a British perspective: The groundbreaking 1970s teenage rock band that at numerous times members included Joan Jett; Lita Ford; Micki Steele (The Bangles); Cherie Currie; Vicki Blue (who went behind the camera (bar one self aware role in This Is Spinal Tap) turned into a film maker and pop video director) .... The Runaways:

First Aid Kit are a duo and so ineligible, dont know about the others, you can only add three of those listed to your Top 20 though, and one of those you mentioned, I did add in as I've liked all their songs so far.

You're going to have to work harder than that raliverpool to come up with 20 all-female bands that are all better than the 101 who've sold the most singles in the UK. And yes, we can all do a Google search on "female bands". Besides, three of your list are duos, and therefore ineligible. Anyway, I look forward to receiving your personal Top 20 by PM.

^ I put this band in one of the Havenvisions. A couple of magnificent albums.
^ the best single of 2009 was from a bunch of Brummie schoolgirls
^ from the first wave of punk, big influence on Kurt Cobain
