Neil Sedaka should have had more #1s in my chart, so many great songs he made that didn't get to #1 including Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen, Calendar Girl and later on Laughter In The Rain and Queen Of 1964 (one of his most underrated).
He did get to #1 in my chart twice, and also co-wrote Amarillo. (He also wrote Stupid Cupid but that didn't get to #1 in my chart).
My son will be 16 in just a few weeks..

What about Oh! Carol, Neil Sedaka is one of my dads favourite artists along with Del Shannon, Roy Orbison and later the big mid 60s rock and roll explosion (Kinks, Hollies, Beatles, Manfred Mann, Herman's Hermits), so guess that will heavily influence my tastes

I don't want to talk too much about Neil Sedaka now given he's turned up in Haven Factor. He may well be your act too (or mine!). Oh Carol did reach #1 in my chart though, and of course it has a special meaning for me because I was married to a woman called Carol for so many years.
I only chart singles once. Bobby Helms had my Christmas #1 in 1957 and Brenda Lee in 1960 with those songs.
Stranger On The Shore by Acker Bilk was my Christmas #1 of 1961, and is considered my all time #1 instrumental hit. (Only the chart era, i.e. 1956 onward, counts towards this, although my 2nd biggest was a track recorded in 1954 which then became a hit in 1957)

Ha yeah i was thinking the same after we both talked about Neil Sedaka having a load of great songs and #1 hits in our charts then he is chosen in HF, best keep the Sedaka talk to a minimum, Brenda Lee was Xmas number 1 last year, Xmas songs might re-appear a few times in my charts, if they are great, 60 years later and Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree is still one of the best Christmas songs ever released
