54 Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
I would say from this point on every show is a 10/10 show or at least for an extended period of its run. Terminator:TSCC is a brilliant show, I would rate it better than any movie after T2, even the most recent movie. Cromartie is a great villian, well casted Sarah and John Connor and one of the best ever Terminators in Cameron, as usual Summer Glau is kick ass gorgeous but as usual she is a curse of a brilliant show and the axe will always fall prematurely on a Summer Glau show Two perfect seasons is all we get!! 53 Who Wants to Be A Millionaire
I think the prize for greatest quiz show of the 21st century could only go to one show. A simple but brilliant concept just answer a list of increasingly harder questions, get 2 safes post were you can bank your money, get 3 or 4 lives to help you get there and give them a chance to win £1million and lose £968000 on 1 question!! The music, the tension, the presenters Chris Tarrant and the revived show with Jeremy Clarkson both brilliant.

Watched Heroes back in the day but can't remember how much. We did start rewatching it a few months ago but though we enjoyed the first series we haven't yet gone past it.
I'm really not into superheroes so haven't seen most of those. I am intrigued by Glow though; Alison Brie was so good in Mad Men.

52 Star Trek Discovery
Star Trek returns to TV but it was not quite the show we expected. Trekkers could pick out so many things they disliked about Season 1 but TV Star Trek rarely gets Season 1 right, you have to bed in, you have to bond with the crew, you have to absorb the new world and accept the changes, once you have done that, you are ready for the spectacular Season 2. I will tell all Trek fans to give this a chance as it will reward you. This show ones you let it in as some of the best characters in any Star Trek show. Season 3 coming very soon.
51 The Shield
Only now I am rewatching The Wire seeing if I can get through it but I did watch The Shield. And yes it probably is the best police drama ever. Powered by a brilliant lead Michael Chiklis, he pushes the law to the limit but he is not corrupt and it introduces us to one of my favourite actors of the 21st century Walton Goggins. They are a special Strike Team that solve the crimes that the ordinary police cant handle. Just so good.

I knew her from Community. Both those shows still to come! Yes watch Glow, it has so many things it deal with such as rasicm, homophobia, relationships, drug abuse, fat shaming, and dresses it all up in a silly staged wrestling which almost becomes background by Season 3. All with a 80s perspective. OMG she was Pete's wife!! Never made the connection.

Yes, it did They managed to make the ending fairly neat but you could tell they could have gone on much longer. My favourite show ever also ended after only two seasons but I don't know if it will be in this list.

It'll be something of an anticlimax because I'm not even sure if you have seen it I probably would have said Game of Thrones before last season

Yes you really should, if you haven't already! I'm not even sure whether it's available on any streaming platforms or which those are if so. We have it on DVD.
All I will say (because apparently I can't resist dropping clues this morning) is there is at least one actor in it who also appeared in GoT.

50 House
We were a couple of years late on this but once we started watching it, it was must see TV, we did go back and watch the first 2 seasons though as soon as the one we joined at finished. Hugh Laurie's House is probably one of the Tv characters of the 21st Century, with a doctor's manner which is unique to say the least with a Columbo style knack for solving the mystery illness in the last minute. Funny, shocking, and its never a tumour!! Oh and did I forget this show introduced me to 'Baba O'Riley' yes I was that late!!!
Here are some classic moments from Season 1
49 Fargo
First of all as we know one of the best movies ever, how will the TV show go. Well Season 1 was brilliant, I really don't watch to talk much about this show without spoiling it but Season 1 plays like a prequel to the movie with a young version of Frances McDormand character. Season 2 I wasn't a huige fan of by Season 3 with Ewan Macgregor was brilliant as well. Season 4 is due this fall!

48 The Apprentice
Oh I bet nobody saw this coming. And yes another show we joined late we didn't watch the first season. It has had its up and downs but it never fails to be car crash television, how can such clever successful people be so dumb , time and time again. It just makes you feel better about yourself, even though you know you certainly wouldn't do much better than them but its easy to back seat drive.
47 True Blood
Now a show that's very much ahead of its time, True Blood although its HBO, feels much more like a Netflix show. Its sexy, gory, colourful, brilliant cast and so so over the top. It jumps the shark almost from season 2 but it doesn't matter, its just an addictive, guilty pleasure. Probably the best Vampire show ever. Just look at the cast in this trailer!!

46 Rescue Me
Sometimes you fall in love with a TV show but nobody else is watching it and nobody else has heard of it, for me that show is Rescue Me! Set in New York shortly after 9:11 it tells the story of a local Fire Crew. It stars Denis Leary, who is his sardonic best, his magnetic personality just glues you to the show. But its not about puting out fires, its about people and you will fall in love with everybody in this show. They become your colleagues and you feel every moment. Just brilliant emotional drama, I was in a very darkl place around this time and Denis and the crew, helped get me crew. Sadly I never saw the final season was it was never screened on Uk TV, maybe one day. This is how it starts.
Oh and this was the title theme, still gives me chills Von Bondies - C'mon C'mon

45 Dark Angel
How can we follow that, It was too low I think. We can follow it with possibly the most beautiful actress of the 21st century and the TV show which made her a star. OOOH!! Its another Fox show, they used to make so much great TV. James Cameron makes his first foray into TV with this show about a genetically modified super soldier, female of course. This soldier is played by the lovely Jessica Alba. Also stars a very young Jensen Ackles, Supernatural just missed the cut btw. Season 1 was a massive hit but as was the case a lot in the 00s, season 2 was treated very badly and was axed prematurely.
The Season 1 trailer is very creaky so I will use this clip reel instead.
44 Mock The Week
We move away from drama again to some real BBC TV. I still watch this show and it still has its moments but the early seasons of Mock The Week, were one of the funniest things on TV and mostly due to one man. Frankie Boyle is probably my favourite comedian of the 21st century, he is daring, UnPC but somehow still PC at the same time which is an art, so quick, clever, he just says what people are thinking sometimes in the most crazy twisted ways but you totally get it. I know he does cross the line a few times but that should be what great comedy is all about. Lenny Bruce, Dave Allen, Billy Connolly and Bill Hicks they all did this. So yes we still love Milton and the regulars but here is some of the best of Frankie on the show.

A couple in this latest set I've seen. We haven't watched Mock the Week in a while but it was essential viewing for us a few years ago. My partner is also a big Frankie Boyle fan; he was always one of the highlights. Not many others could get away with that kind of humour! I have... thoughts about House I saw some of it with housemates but we didn't watch it religiously so I definitely missed episodes, and I couldn't remember anything after the devastating Season 4 finale. Finally watched the whole thing with my partner a couple of months ago and I have to say that while aspects of it were brilliant, especially in the earlier seasons, it definitely lost steam as it went on. It was very much a show of its time - I think in the post-#MeToo era it's much harder to write characters like House and expect them to still be likeable. It really is all about that character. House manages to be likeable and horrible at the same time, and Hugh Laurie gave one of his best performances in the role. In the end though I think it was a writing problem. With a set-up like that I think you have a dilemma when you get past the first few seasons: do you let the character grow as a person even if it jeopardises the qualities that got people to watch them in the first place, or keep them as they are even if it leads makes for frustrating viewing? They broadly went for option two. We found it pretty frustrating as while there'd be occasional suggestions that House was actually trying to address some of his issues, he'd inevitably backtrack and do something worse. While his friendship with Wilson was pretty funny, after a while we started wondering why he kept putting up with House's crap. In the end I think it just went on a couple of seasons too long. They did come up with a typical House ending though

Doesn't look like you're a big fan of US Crime Series but maybe The Shield is just the beginning and they're all to come.

Doesn't look like you're a big fan of US Crime Series but maybe The Shield is just the beginning and they're all to come. I don’t really like procedural stuff or case of the week shows unless they have a really good underlying story and progression for the characters so yes I’ll watch CSI, NCIS and those type shows but they would never make the shortlist, cop shows need to have a unique spin on them to make me interested. Also some go on way to long like Criminal Minds, season 1 was dark but quality , season 2 started the descent into exploitive murder porn so much that the cast couldn’t handle it themselves.
