I love them as an 80s and 90s duo. I've watched their stuff over and over and still find it so so funny. Sometimes I can be in a long queue and start thinking about one of their old sketches and have to stop myself smiling 'cause I look like a loon smiling at nothing.  I do think though, they pretty much used up all their good stuff long ago, way back then.  Their last sketch show (other than maybe two scenes) was painful. I bought their last live dvd and it was the worst stand up I've ever seen (bar Miranda Hart but I wasn't expecting much from her anyway). |

Series 2 and 3 were my favourites, and loved their spoofs on music videos, Star Test, and there was one episode were they had French and Saunders Acting Agency, and the operatic version of Kylie Minogue which I watched over and over. But yes, once they started writing their own material for their own shows, they quality dropped.
