Nothing seems to stay at number one for very long in this completely made up chart. I am guessing it's Nik Kershaw's turn next week.
Also isn't that Chesney Hawkes song about 10 years old?

I like the current #1, spent some time in my personal chart (though it’s dropped out by now). Most of the others have passed me by.

Judging by twitter, it would appear one of the determining factors for the chart is kissing Mike Read's arse.

Foxy announced at the end of the show tonight that both him and Mike are leaving UDJ and going to a new station and taking the heritage chart with them. So the heritage chart will be on a new station next week whatever that is.

Foxy announced at the end of the show tonight that both him and Mike are leaving UDJ and going to a new station and taking the heritage chart with them. So the heritage chart will be on a new station next week whatever that is. From the United DJs Facebook page.
"After making a legal challenge to own the HERITAGE CHART programme, United DJ Radio's Tony Prince has handed the show over to Mike Read who thought up the idea. UDJ had registered the brand and maintained that a DJ could not own a programme unless it was a purchased syndication. This is simply because
The station has immediately dropped Read from the Breakfast Show and Neil Fox who presented the chart show for 16 weeks will no longer be involved.
Tony Prince, the founder of UDJ commented: "What brought things to a head was when we saw the use of the Heritage chart graphics in a promo for the new online TV show which Mike Read is involved with. We were concerned that a chart show with just Mike and Neil compiling the content was wide open to criticism. Some listeners felt it was a 'Mike's Mates club' who charted and there was a great deal of querying from both the music industry and listeners wanting to know how exactly the chart was compiled?"
With Read now off the air at UDJ a new chart show is planned in the same time slot Sunday 5-7pm. Rebranded as The United Top 30, this one will involve the listeners opinions and members of the 32 United DJ team. Prince will be caretaker of the show until Shaun Tilley takes it over on 6th November. Shaun recently completed 'The Luxembourg Years' a popular 12 week series.
Programme Director Bob Lawrence commented, "The Heritage content was primarily artists we had known and loved over the decades who were starved of exposure on mainstream radio. The United Top 30 will continue to have the charts prime focus on such great music makers but will consider tunes that fit the description 'proper songs'. Ultimately the chart show, like UDJ itself, is targeting the 40+ who's favourite artists are back in our spotlight". "The UDJ chart is to benefit the musicians and music industry", says Tony Prince former Programme Dirtector of Radio Luxembourg. "We have over 7000 members on our exclusive FB page and their comments have indicated to us that the chart with this type of music is attracting sales, something the industry needs more than ever".
United DJ Radio recently launched on the FreeDab Irish network and is available in DAB in Portsmouth nand Norwich."

It certainly does feel like a "Mikes Mates" Club How come Travis and Erasure have only had 1 week since this chart began? And no Kylie? Ronan? Or Steps? All three of these are more or less retro/heritage acts too. And i suppose launching an online tv show without crediting the station the chart it's on is a bit much really. That said i do like the concept and anything that raises the profile of new material from these acts who are no longer in the mainstream is a good idea. I wonder where they're going to now they left UDJ? Cliff at number 1 tonight, Shaky reaching number 2 last week certainly suggests that!
As for the TV show, charging a tenner per programme to view it is taking the p...

From Neil Fox So I thought I should let you know where you can hear the Heritage Chart from next Sunday 15th November. Mike Read and myself are actually starting a brand new radio station...and its all explained here: spread the word please! “An exciting new home for The Heritage Chart” Broadcast legends Mike Read ( Radio 1, Top of the Pops, Saturday Superstore, Pop Quiz) and Neil “Doctor” Fox ( Capital, Magic, The Pepsi Chart, Pop Idol) are starting their own radio station. They have joined forces with Nation Broadcasting - the UK’s fourth biggest radio operator - to create Nation Radio UK, a new music station that will bring together a great team of nationally-known broadcasters with the broadest and most expansive music selection On-Air today. And it will be the new home for The Heritage Chart - an exciting new chart format playing great new music by “Heritage” artists, which has been tried and tested over the last four months and is now ready for a bigger platform - and a much wider audience. Although Mike and Neil both worked at Radio Luxembourg, their paths didn’t cross until Mike joined Capital Gold and Foxy was “kranking it up” on Capital FM. They became friends and stayed in touch until July 2020 when Mike talked to Neil about hosting a new show he had created called The Heritage Chart. Having loved his time hosting the ground-breaking Pepsi Chart for 12 years, the Doctor was excited enough about this new chart format to get back on-air. And after 16 weeks testing it out on internet station UDJ it is time to move it on. “Mike and I quickly realised that this was something the more mature audience was crying out for: a chart full of great new music from artists they had grown-up with and loved for years - and in some cases decades - that wasn’t getting any exposure. The feedback was incredible from the very first show , with the audience telling us it had got them fired-up about the Sunday chart again ”, says Neil. “And the feedback from the artists has been incredible too, excited that the new music they are making is been heard and enjoyed, not just the songs that made them famous “back in the day”. Foxy and I both knew we had to get this onto a bigger platform, so we sat down with Jason Bryant at Nation Broadcasting, and here we are. A new chart, with a new station and a brand new format on the way. We could not be more excited” adds Mike. The Heritage Chart moves to Nation Radio on November 15th and is On-Air from 5pm. You can hear Nation Radio on DAB Digital Radio across London and the South East and online at nationradio.london ( Rajar TSA is 12.26 million) You can ask your connected device to play Nation Radio London on Tune in or UK Radioplayer Nation Radio also has its own app on App Stores and dedicated smart device skill – just search for Nation Radio and once installed select the option for Nation Radio London Mike and Neil’s new station, Nation Radio UK, will be On-Air from January 4th 2021 with a wider roll-out through the year. More details to follow.

So Falling For You by Cliff does not appear on the United Top 30 yet it is still #1 on the Heritage Chart. Good to see Cliff's version of Older chart though. It is terrific.
