Nobody puts grandma in a home! I'm sure fans of the original will be happy but I needed this about as much as I needed the fifth (fifth!!) John Wick film that was announced recently too...

Patrick Swayze made the movie, along with the sizzling soundtrack, and sadly Patrick is dead, it just wont work imo.

I hated the original! Hate it, hate it, hate it! So am very much not the target audience for this...

The Wikipedia app version reads slightly differently and is equally as praising Dirty Dancing is a Terrible 2017 American television film directed by Wayne Blair and written by Jessica Sharzer. It is a God Awful remake of the 1987 film of the same name that should not of been Made.

I hated the original! Hate it, hate it, hate it! So am very much not the target audience for this... I thought I was the only one. I swear I've never met anyone else who strongly dislikes the movie. I always felt it had such a hackneyed script. It was like a bad 1960s Elvis Presley/Cliff Richard musical film.
I mean it is no Grease. Which the coming of age film clearly wanted to be with a bit of the darkness of Saturday Night Fever thrown in. Patrick Swayze was a fabulous dancer and was a greater actor in Road House; Point Break; Ghost; To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar; & his very dark ballsy cameo in Donnie Darko. But this film made me want to vomit. Plus he could not sing for toffee on She's Like The Wind.....
...... and seeing it was set in the summer of 1963, and if you ignore all the New songs in the film (don't get me started on the I've Had The Time Of My Life show dance finale (unless you are generous and allow it as a breaking the 4th wall indulgence)). Then clearly Marty McFly had previously visited that holiday result to explain why they were dancing to Otis Redding "Love Man" which was not actually recorded until January 1967, and not released until June 1969; & Lesley Gore's "You Don't Own Me" which was not recorded until November 1963, and released a month later....
You can only imagine what I made of the historical inaccuracies of the Bohemian Rhapsody film; which totally spoilt my enjoyment of that.
