To the surprise of absolutely nobody... 1. Just a Day (non-album single, 2001)First appearing as a B-side to 'Seven Days In The Sun', it was released as a single in December 2001 and reached #12 in the charts. It is also remembered, sadly, for being the last single Feeder released with Jon Lee, and its success not one month before his suicide amplified the shock. On one level, this song absolutely deserves to be #1 because it's just a brilliant, brilliant rock song; full of energy, with an irresistibly catchy chorus that demands to be sung along to at a gig. On another level, it's here because it just means so much to me. It's the sound of my teenage years. It's the sound of having fun with friends. It's the sound of actual happiness and I couldn't ever rank another Feeder song above it. One of the better things to come out of 2020 was the updated version of the original iconic video, which was put together after the band called for contributions on their social media! Near-misses coming up later. G probably won't be until the weekend (but feel free to speculate, as ever )

A deserved #1 there, it still manages to sound fresh and exciting today. I would have had Come Back Around and Tumble And Fall in my Top 10, I suspect they're both in your near misses.
Not sure about what G could be! Green Day maybe? Gorillaz?

Near-misses at last... Pushing the Senses (Pushing the Senses, 2005)
This is probably the one I'm most sad about leaving out, so it could probably be considered my #11. My second-favourite track from the album, though slightly diminished for me after it was (over)used by Sky Sports. Forget About Tomorrow (Comfort in Sound, 2002)Another gorgeous, strings-laden single from their fourth album I've always loved. Probably my #12. You're My Evergreen (Yesterday Went Too Soon, 1999)This album track enjoyed a period in my late teens of being my absolute favourite Feeder song. Not quite as fond of it as I once was, but it still gets a listen now and again. Crash (Polythene, 1997)One of Feeder's first singles! Another old favourite from their first album. You can hear a lot of this one in 'Anaesthetic'. Fear of Flying (Tallulah, 2019)What a return to form this was! Their best single in years

Not sure about what G could be! Green Day maybe? Gorillaz? Surprisingly I'm not that keen on either of those; I do like 'Come Back Around' but I think when it came out after 'Just a Day' it just seemed a bit flat (understandably, given what happened in the interim between the two singles). Of the two G artists you name, I love one and don't care for the other at all! Probably not hard to guess which way around

Can't believe I couldn't think of Garbage! Especially when it'd be between them and Green Day for me, or maybe Gaslight Anthem as well?
Guns N Roses?

With all the doom and gloom around at the moment, maybe a bit of Gloria Gaynor is in order? 😁
