Scissor Sisters is incredible - they never came close with any other album. Pumpkins is brilliant - yes, maybe five songs could have been pruned from it and the title is appalling. Beatles great, Donna, too. Scott 4 is a good one.
Wasn't mad keen on "indie" Cathy Dennis. Adored her and her first album. I suppose i could give your charting album a fresh try now as i never bought it at the time and i think i only listened via YouTube clips in recent years.

I know it's probably not the credible choice, but my favourite Donna Summer album is the SAW produced 'Another place and time'. Every song is great.

224 Beach House - Teen Dream (2010)
The Baltimore, Maryland dream pop duo of vocalist and keyboardist Victoria Legrand and guitarist, keyboardist, and backup vocalist Alex Scally reach my Top 250 Albums of all time list with their third of seven studio albums to date. This was their first release on Sub Pop records, but their third on Bella Union records in Europe. I first became aware of them via their breakout track (Master Of None) from their debut self titled album; and whilst they have had greater commercial success since this third album, I feel it is their definitive musical statement (Although the follow up Bloom (2012) runs it close).
Co-produced by US indie producer Chris Coady, this has a clinical, glacial, clean & uncluttered sound to it, helped by them greatly reducing their earlier trademark reverb sound.
A very consistent record, across the ten tracks there is not one remotely resembling a dud. But if I had to pick four tracks as stand outs then: "10 Mile Stereo"; "Zebra"; "Walk In The Park"; & "Take Care" are worth a listen. If you like the Fleet Foxes; London Grammar & The xx then I highly recommend this album.

223 Pet Shop Boys - Behaviour (1990)
The fourth studio album by English synth-pop duo of Neil Tennant & Chris Lowe, saw them co-produced with Harold Faltermeyer at his Red Deer studio in Munich, Germany. This album was very different from both the previous album, Introspective, and the 1993 follow-up, Very. Which at the time saw them lose a lot of their fanbase due to uptempo synth dance music being replaced by this far more reflective, glacial sounding synth-pop genre with flavours of guitar pop ballads (courtesy of ex-The Smiths/Electronic's Johnny Marr); and some orchestral arrangements (courtesy of Angelo Badalamenti).
Critically, whilst up market serious publications were ecstatic, downmarket popular teen magazines were underwhelmed/dismayed. It is somewhat telling that the only track to feature pithy, flippant, & hilariously bitchy lyrics by Neil, is the track most like their previous efforts "How Can You Expect To Be Taken Seriously?" - which provided a bit of a guess who at the time with regards whom it was about as all Neil would say in interviews "was inspired by a female pop star from 1989" with speculation ranging from Madonna & Janet Jackson to Martika, Tanita Tikarum, Sonia .... (and finally confirmed a decade ago as the subject matter) Wendy James (Transvision Vamp).
This was reflected by the chart peak of its second single "Being Boring" which I still think is their top three best songs (alongside "West End Girls" & "Left To My Own Devices") which stalled at UK #20, ending their run of 10 consecutive UK top ten hits to date. But I guess songs about getting older, and having friends who have now died of Aids was not very Radio 1/Top Of The Pops friendly. Also the Stephen Sondheim like final track "Jealously" has been covered by Dubstar, Rufus Wainwright, & Robbie Williams.

249 Small Faces - Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake (1968)
Although I don't own this album (I nearly bought it a few years ago), I do have a greatest hits album which has everything from "Lazy Sunday" to "Itchycoo Park" and everything in between.

246 The Killers - Hot Fuss (2004)
The Killers were not on my radar in the mid 00's, they just past me by. However a few years back I gave them another listen to, which ended up with me buying this album finally in 2018.
A great introduction to their music.

243 Supertramp - Breakfast In America (1979)
Another one that I always wanted, but never actually acquired. I do own their greatest hits album plus their 1974 album "Crime of the Century".

239 Led Zeppelin - House Of The Holy (1973)
This one I do own on vinyl. When I was young in the 70's Led Zep, were a bit beyond my music appreciation levels, I preferred T Rex & Bowie in the early 70's.
But with age comes appreciation, and I now own most of their early albums, I play them quite often.

238 Pierces - You & I (2011)
I am a huge fan of them as I own this album plus their 2014 album "Creation", I have entered 2 of their songs in the current Haven Time Machine, and shortlisted so many more from both albums.
They remind me a little of 80's Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks sound.
One of my favourite acts of the last decade.
this was one of my backups for 2011

237 Electric Light Orchestra - Time (1981) ELO are one of a handful of acts where I own every album they have ever released, including this one. Personal faves on this - Ticket to the moon, twilight, The way life's meant to be, Here is the news, and Hold on Tight. ELO can do no wrong with me.

I have this on vinyl and it truly has some classic songs on it. Even the lessor known tracks are still good.

230 Scissor Sisters - Scissor Sisters (2004)
I bought this one when it got released, there was just something different about them when they first came out. I bought the follow up, but I lost interest in them after that.

226 The Beatles - The Beatles (White Album) (1968)
Another act where I own all their albums, there is a lot to like on this, and as you said, a few to forget. But even iffy Beatles songs still knock spots of most songs by other acts.

Agree with every word on Scissor Sisters. I had such high hopes for the second album with such a fab lead single....but it was a birrova letdown.
I only have two Donna Summer albums - Endless Summer (hits compilation)and Another Place & Time. Another Place & Time has been listened to several million more times than the hits album.
Cathy Dennis - love everything on the first album. Loved the singles and liked the nonsingles on the second album. The third album ? Hmmm I listen to it 'cause it's Cathy but I wish when she'd done Find The Key To Your Life she'd stuck to that sound. I am more likely to listen to IndieCathy than IndieKylie but that might only be because Kylie has so many other pop albums to choose from. I want an album of Cathy singing the songs that she gave to other acts!
Pet Shop Boys - I had to check if I have this one....and I do. So many good songs, but for me, they do kinda blend into one a bit as his voice does nowt for me. I didn't realise I loved Being Boring 'til Merril Bainbridge covered it.

222 Radiohead - The Bends (1995)
The second album by the Oxford alternative rockers was released in March 1995 produced by John Leckie, and engineered by Nigel Godrich, who has produced all of Radiohead's subsequent studio albums.
It saw the band move away from their albatross one hit wonder status via incorporating cryptic lyrics, a greater use of keyboards in a more experimental progressive rock sound and more abrasive guitar tracks. A direction they would journey further and further into on future albums.
It contains the 1990s indie rock classics "High & Dry"; "Fake Plastic Trees"; "Just"; "My Iron Lung"; & Street Spirit (Fade Out)".

221 SZA - Ctrl (2017)
The neo-soul St. Louis, Missouri born Solána Imani Rowe released her debut album of songwriting, rap & mellow hip hop fusion in June 2017. This album features guest appearances from Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, James Fauntleroy, and Isaiah Rashad, and received rave reviews resulting in it deservedly featuring very highly in many music publications (and an 86 Metacritic Rating).
SZA's confessional style of vocal phrasing stars throughout this inspiring, woozy yet hypnotic sounding neo-soul album. As typified by its lead single "Drew Barrymore" which instantly caught my attention, as soon as Trevor Nelson played it. Whilst the Trap ballad "Love Galore" featuring Travis Scott; "The Weekend" is named as it sounds like it could be by the Canadian hip hip artist of the (near) same name, but he had nothing to do with its writing; "The Garden (Say It Like Dat)" features a cameo by Childish Gambino; and "Broken Clocks" is a great nostalgic track reminiscent of a mellow 1990s Janet Jackson or TLC track. Then there is "Doves In The Wind"; "Supermodel"; "Prom" ... you get my drift... This is a great album if you like this genre/type of record.
