RIP. He is the second member of the group to die after guitarist Alan Blakley who died of cancer in 1996. I believe on most of their singles after Brian Poole left to go solo, (father of Chesney) Len "Chip" Hawkins was the lead vocalist. But when he left the group as a 60s revival tour entity in 1988 Dave Munden took over lead vocal duties. I believe he retired in 2018 due to ill health, with "Chip" rejoining the band, and them employing his offspring Jodie Hawkes on drums alongside existing 1960s band members Rick Westwood & Mick Clarke. However, drummer Dave Munden definitely took lead on the first verse of their 1967 UK #4 hit "Even The Bad Times Are Good" & on their 1969 UK #2 "Call Me Number One":
RIP.
