The Tuesdays, originally known as the Tuesday Girls, began in 1990 while still in high school as a cover band in their hometown of Larvik, Norway. Playing a radio friendly pop rock that many described as the Norwegian answer to the Bangles, released their debut in 1994, titled When You Are A Tuesday Girl, released only in Norway and Japan it still gained the band some attention however with the departure of then lead vocalist Jeanette Heidenstrom and drummer Maria Andreassen the band was left as a trio and searching for a new label as well. By 1997 major label Arista would signed the trio whom with vocalist Laila Samuels and new drummer Linda Gustafsson would shortened the band name to The Tuesdays and released their self titled album in 1998, with three singles from the 1994 album finding a new version on the 1998 album, the singles, "It's Up To You", "Too Late To Be Good" and "I'll Be Here" received a fair amount of air play and helped open the band up to a American market as well, however even with the heavy radio rotation of the singles, album sales were low per Arista records ideals and when the next album was presented to Arista they were unhappy and dropped the band, the Tuesdays called it a day shortly after. It's Up To YouToo Late To Be Good I'll Be HereJust came across these guys whilst prepping for my 1998 retro chart and thought they were very Haven, one for Good Old Days

"Changing The Moods" reached 79th place in my all-time top 100 girls group songs list.
Former lead singer Laila Samuelsen released a solo album in 2002 and is still involved in writing music. In 2016 year she was a participant of Melodi Grand Prix (Norwegian Eurovsion pre-selection) with "Afterglow", but finished only on 4th place.
