I think it's a lovely cover. It's far better for them to do a stripped down version rather than trying to out Pet-Shop-Boys the Pet Shop Boys.

Yeah the stripped back sound is what totally subverted my expectations, and I love this.

I hadnt realised but its taking from a new series called "Its A Sin". The series follows three 18-year-olds who move to London in 1981 and have their lives turned upside down by the AIDS crisis. It explores HIV/AIDS in the United Kingdom, spanning a decade until 1991.
Years And years singer Olly is in the series playing character Ritchie Tozer.
On Channel 4

The series was written by Russell T Davies whose last series was Years & Years, named after Olly Alexander's band. Davies was, of course, also responsible for the return of Dr Who. His second Doctor was David Tennant who took his surname from Neil Tennant of the Pet Shop Boys which brings us back to It's A Sin.

Going to catch up on the programme this weekend. They were talking about it on th tv this morning. Looks to be a good and interesting watch.

Oh, Mr Smurf will love this! Very good. Although I spent years convinced the Pet Shop Boys version was also a cover - not sure why, it’s always sounded to me like it was.

If talking about Davies and his work, it would be criminal not to mention the fantastic Cucumber from a few years back.

I don't mind this cover but it in no way compares to the original, which is an absolute stone cold classic.
The series is brilliant - I binge watched it all last weekend. It's really, really sad though.
