Welcome to Frank Edwin's 10/24/2021 Salad Bar🥗Top 100 weekly inclusive feast where we invite you to Chow Down on a fresh variety of tasty musical artist cuisine. Romaine Calm - Turnip the Beet - Find Inner Peas.
The Top 100 has just a small sampling of the artists worldwide that have music we enjoy sharing. We literally can't keep up with the number of new songs released weekly and new to us artists we are discovering on a daily basis from a plethora of sources.
There are currently over 200 songs waiting to join the buffet. To facilitate the opportunity of having more songs join the chart we are now giving 6 songs each week the special designation of #1 Salad🥗Song.
It is a pleasure to present Unsung Lilly with our Salad🥗Bowl in honour of “Hold My Hand” being given the designation of a #1 Salad🥗Song in its 10th week on the chart
Unsung Lilly, otherwise known as (wife and wife) Sera & Frankie introduce themselves on their website.
“(They) began making music together back in 2012… Multi-instrumentalist Frankie performs the majority of the instrumentation on the records, and self-produces the songs with a mix of epic modern sounds and layers, fused with an oldskool soulful feel, whilst Sera pens powerful and diverse lyrics. Their message that ‘love knows no boundaries’ is one that has ignited thousands of their fans around the world.”

It is a joy to welcome Izzy Heltai to the pinnacle in his 11th week on the chart and place a cherry tomato on top of “Give It A Try” awarding it the special designation as a #1 Salad🥗Song.
A queer folk artist from Western Massachusetts, USA, he describes his style as “everyday queer trash.” He shares about this past year:
"After years of being on the road non-stop, playing any brewery or coffee shop that would take me, sleeping in my car, seeing some incredible places, and making the coolest friends, I decided to take this rare time of pause to live alone, void of distractions, and dedicate myself to most authentically realizing my artistic and creative vision. I started trusting my gut and decided to always try to be unapologetically myself.
On the flip side, I had a total mental breakdown and discovered what it really means to hit a breaking point. It’s been one of the hardest years of my life. But what came out of it is a collection of songs I’m incredibly proud of."
Those songs became his new EP 'Day Plan (5 songs written 4 the end of the world).' In a Bandcamp post, Izzy says of the "Give It A Try:"
"On the surface, this song is about someone I was involved with romantically who didn’t know what she wanted. She wasn’t self aware enough to end it, so I was forced to walk away no matter how much I loved her and how much it hurt. I wasn’t getting what I needed and I wasn’t being treated fairly.
As I’ve thought about it more and more, this song is about so much more than that.
I have been privileged in my life, to be surrounded by some of the greatest friends, family, and support system a person could ask for. People who have shown me how much I’m worth, who have shown me what it means to treat a person well.
This song is for the people in my life who gave me the strength and perspective to walk away. The people who have shown me, time and time again, I will never actually be alone because I am surrounded by their love and kindness every day."
#1 Salad🥗Song: Izzy Heltai ft. My Friends - Give It a Try
In their 12th week on the chart we are delighted to give Zerzil and Gabeu their first Salad🥗Bowl in honour of “Casinha no Sertão” becoming a #1 Salad🥗Song.
In an article for ArtCult we read, "One of the most listened to genres in Brazil, the sertanejo has gained, in recent times, an increasingly inclusive configuration. For many it is difficult to imagine a drag queen or a non-binary artist singing of suffering. A powerful group of artists has gathered and is working daily to change this idea. For the movement called “Queernejo”, the sertanejo does not need to be a place and showcase only for straight men and empowered women, most of them also straight. You can have space for everyone.
Queernejo is a kind of subgenre within the power that is the sertanejo market, bringing content with more diversity to an environment guided by heteronormativity, in which machismo and homophobia, unfortunately, are very present.
In 2020, with the covid 19 pandemic preventing the holding of concerts and events, the artists got together and produced the Fivela Fest, the first Queernejo festival in Brazil. Conceived and directed by Gabeu (singer, composer and son of a country icon, Solimões) and Gali Galó (singer and composer). Although new, the Fivela Fest already had its first edition with the participation of several queer artists. In addition to the creators themselves, there were also Zerzil (non-binarie artist), Alice Marcone (first trans woman of the genre), Reddy Allor (drag queen) and Bemti...
The inspiration for the creation of “Casinha no Sertão” came during the quarantine, while Zerzil played Minecraft, one of his favorite pastimes in this period of isolation.
For those who don't know, in Minecraft players “mine” nature's materials for a living, building their own houses, planting and raising animals such as chickens, cows, horses. While playing, Zerzil – who has his origins in the Minas Gerais hinterland – felt an enormous desire to return to and live in the countryside taking refuge with his friends in the middle of nature.
During the preparations for the show at Buckle Fest, the idea came to invite Gabeu to collaborate. Gabeu identified himself with the lyrics, which convey an idea of bucolicism and contact with rural roots."

We are delighted to give new fathers Sam Tsui & Casey Breves their first Salad🥗Bowl in honour of their special duet by “The Olive Tree” becoming a #1 Salad🥗Song in its 11th week on the chart.
"Our daughter Elaia was born on June 11th, 2021. Becoming her dads is the greatest joy, honor, and privilege of our lives. Her name means “olive tree” in Classical Greek, so we wrote this song for her to help welcome her to the world and capture just a bit of the overwhelming love we feel for her. Music is such a huge part of our lives, and something we are so excited to be able to share with our daughter. I hope you enjoy this song - both the music and video (which I hand animated!) were created with so much love."

Sunny War is a blues/folk/punk musician based in Los Angeles known for her inventive guitar style. This pandemic has intensified her work. In fact, it’s given her incentive to give more to the community outside of music by founding an LA chapter of the nonprofit Food Not Bombs. She shares:
“I wrote the lyrics for ‘Lucid Lucy’ about two years ago, but I have been a big fan of sleeping most of my life. ‘Lucid Lucy’ is a tribute to the wonderful limitless world we all have access to.
Lucy is exhausted and tired of her dull life. She has a better time asleep than awake. She has mastered lucid dreaming and has beautiful adventures every night when she goes to bed. My friend Niall Taro Ferguson plays cello on the song and it’s quite dreamy.”
We are tickled pink to find “Lucid Lucy” at the top of the buffet giving it the distinction of #1 Salad 🥗 Song.
