Welcome to Frank Edwin's 11/28/2021 Salad Bar🥗Top 100 weekly inclusive feast where we invite you to Chow Down on a fresh variety of tasty musical artist cuisine. Romaine Calm - Turnip the Beet - Find Inner Peas.
The Top 100 has just a small sampling of the artists worldwide that have music we enjoy sharing. We literally can't keep up with the number of new songs released weekly and new to us artists we are discovering on a daily basis from a plethora of sources.
There are currently over 200 songs waiting to debut on the chart. To facilitate the opportunity of having more songs join the buffet we are giving 6 songs each week the special designation of #1 Salad🥗Song.
#1 Salad🥗Song: Anastasia Jane - From A Chrysalis
We are delighted to find Anastasia Jane back at the top of the Salad Bar Top 100 and it’s a joy to present her with another Salad🥗Bowl in honour of “From A Chrysalis” being given the designation of a #1 Salad🥗Song in its 12th week on the chart.
Anastasia shares, ““From A Chrysalis” reflects the culmination of my journey toward growth and authenticity which has lead me right to the present. It is specifically related to my journey as a transgender woman, but it could be anyone's journey when we allow ourselves to become the butterflies we were always intended to be.”
#1 Salad🥗Song: Jake Trevor · Pieces
Singer-songwriter Jake Trevor moved to New York City, with a one-way train ticket, $40 in his wallet and only one goal: making music his life. Night after night of open mics and busking in the New York City Subway, he continues his musical journey with an urgency and passion to share his music with the whole world.
We welcome him back to the Top in his 11th week on the chart as we present him with his second #1 Salad Song; the moving and heartfelt “Pieces.”
#1 Salad🥗Song: Paul Middleton - Perfect (Cover of P!NK)
This week we place a cherry tomato on top of a trio of tasty dishes as their Salad Song Chefs have the honour of having #1 Salad🥗Songs on the buffet for the 2nd time. Paul Middleton becomes one of those artistes in his 11th week on the chart with his cover of P!NK’s song ‘Perfect.’ We let Bear World Magazine tell us more about Paul’s inspiration for covering the tune:
“In a spectacular arrangement of P!NK’s heartfelt single ‘Perfect,’ Paul Middleton, brings an emotional performance with his stunning rendition. Interpreting the song into a ballad, Middleton’s poignant cover shines a light on the painful recent events in the LGBTQ+ community, offering solace and support for listeners.
“I was inspired to record this after the recent attacks on the LGBTQ community,” Middleton says of this powerful track, reflecting on the tragic events of Samuel Luiz’s death in Spain in July.
Adding to this heartbreaking incident was the attack on the LGBTQ offices in Georgia around the same time. Troubled by the pain caused to the community, Paul Middleton, who is also an advocate for mental health, felt an urge to reach out and support the community with a positive message and the stirring lyrics of ‘Perfect’ seemed to speak the truth.”
#1 Salad🥗Song: Adee Lifshitz + SaulPaul - Just Be
"We wanted to write something uplifting and hopeful towards the future."
For the past thirty-two Februarys, Folk Alliance International has hosted a conference in an effort to expand the community of folk musicians across the globe. This year however, ascribing to quarantine conditions, FAI opted for the all-virtual Folk Unlocked, a five-day event that included panels, showcases, and more. They also produced a series of collaborative music videos reflecting on the pandemic, that despite their remote nature and filming of artists in the comfort of their own homes, are still inherently international.
SaulPaul is a GRAMMY Nominated Musician with a Message. He has also presented 3 TEDx Talks, performed at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts and been featured on America’s Got Talent. His life story of transitioning from tragedy to triumph has been told on screen via the documentary Tower to Tower as well as via his memoir Be The Change. Most recently, SaulPaul founded Change Water, a socially conscious bottled water company that donates to the local community where each case of water is sold. Whether via art, entrepreneurship or community service, SaulPaul is committed to #BeTheChange.
Adee is a singer, songwriter, musical arranger, and vocal teacher who grew up in a small town in Israel, now based in Manchester, UK. She is also the assistant producer of English Folk Expo.
Of the song “Just Be” and accompanying video, SaulPaul tells American Blues Scene:
“While producing this song, I knew I wanted something simple that would showcase Adee’s AMAZING voice and something with some bounce in it that I could have some fun with lyrically. As it turned out, one day while in the studio plucking around on the guitar I stumbled across the riff that’s featured in the song…And I knew that was it. I had found what I was looking for. I knew I had to just let it be. Thus the title: ‘Just Be.’”
Adee tells ABS:
“‘Just Be’ is essentially about living your truth — appreciating yourself and being unapologetic about who you are, especially about what makes you genuine and unique. We wanted to write something uplifting and hopeful towards the future. – Adee Lifshitz”
We welcome their collaboration to the #1 Salad🥗Song roster as “Just Be” enjoys its 12th week on the chart.
#1 Salad🥗Song: Hootgun - cyborg strutt
"I do music me, all by myself.
Not planning on changing the world, not sticking to any sub genre.
Are you ready for some audio madness?
'av a listen then..."
So says the artist known as Hootgun. Lettuce groove as “Cyborg Strutt” reaches the apex of the Top 100 feast in its 9th week on the chart giving Hootgun his first #1 Salad🥗Song.
#1 Salad🥗Song: Elina Filice - Let's Get Lost
This week „Let's Get Lost” joins the deliciously delightful #1 Salad🥗Songs at the top in its 11th week on the chart. It’s the first form Canadian singer/songwriter/spoken word artist Elina Filice who shares:
“I hope you enjoy this new single in celebration of Pride Month! The dance-pop anthem celebrates the coming out experience, and getting lost to find yourself. I hope the song can help those struggling to come to terms with who they are, as well as all of those on the lifelong journey away from shame, and into love and pride...
This song was written while reflecting on my own coming out experience. It’s such a unique and painful time, and those first feelings of queer love are so transformative. On one hand, after dating the wrong gender you're finally feeling something that feels right to you, things you’ve never felt for another person. And at the exact same time you're realizing who you are. It really is finding yourself through loving someone else, which is why for the queer identity, who we love and who we are are inextricably intertwined.”
11 new or returning artistes contribute their chefs-d'œuvre to the smorgasbord: Anjimile - "1978 (Reunion)" feat.
