Okay it's not an unknown one but I never know why '2000 Miles' by The Pretenders doesn't get more love compared to most of the other well-known Christmas classics. It's gorgeous!

Love On Christmas Eve by Tich, of course
and "This Dog's Just For Christmas (Not For Life)" by Prosecco Socialist, terribly under-performed in an XmasVision or Xmas Treasures or whatever it was called that year, but written by Dave Rotheray of the Beautiful South.
Also "Home For Christmas" my Maria Mena. Someone else entered it for one of those contests and I gave it 12 but it still finished poorly.

Elton John's best Christmas song, and arguably a major influence on Kunt & The Gang:
Oh I'd forgotten about that one!
I'd say that and 'Ho! Ho! Ho!, Who'd Be A Turkey At Christmas?' are his 2 best festive offerings!

the ones that immediately spring to mind, are:
newsong- the christmas shoes (which also has a movie that goes with it)
I love christmas time by the fastt food rockers. seriously, everyone remembers them for the fast food song, and say cheese (which were both pretty cheesy lol!), but I love christmas time is actually really nice
another really nice song is josh groban's version of " I'll be home for christmas", complete with dialogue from the soldiers.
the weavers version of we wish you a merry christmas
and then, their's my most recent discovery: lea michelle
her version of oh holy night is lovely, and her other song christmas in new york
bandaid30 which didn't seem to have much recognition at all (not as much as the original version or bandaid 20, and I didn't even like the latter!)

This deserved better than a No.40 position (26/12/2006)

I absolutely love It’s Cliched To Be Cynical At Christmas by Half Man Half Biscuit. Perfect Christmassy feel, lyrics that are funny and clever, and I totally agree with the sentiment.

Joan Regan - Must Be SantaIt's my 2nd place in Christmas songs list. The leader is obvious.
