GROUP A Cameroon 2-1 Burkina Faso Ethiopia 0-1 Cape Verde The hosts come from behind to win after Burkina Faso gave away two stupid penalties. Cape Verde get off the mark in a typically low-scoring group game. Most of their squad is based in Europe, including Dublin-born Roberto Lopes, who plays for Shamrock Rovers.

No highlights show on terrestrial or the iplayer? I'd be extremely surprised if there was anything on terrestrial TV. I would expect there will be highlights of some sort on iPlayer or the website but it might just be condensed highlights of each game.

GROUP B Senegal 1-0 Zimbabwe Guinea 1-0 Malawi GROUP C Morocco 1-0 Ghana Comoros 0-1 Gabon Few goals again on Day 2 of the tournament, with every game finishing 1-0. Favourites Senegal started with a win thanks to Sadio Mané's 97th minute penalty.

GROUP D Nigeria 1-0 Egypt Sudan 0-0 Guinea-Bissau GROUP E Algeria 0-0 Sierra Leone Nigeria win the battle of two African giants with a goal from Ihenacho. Holders Algeria failed to score against Sierra Leone, who defended brilliantly, particularly former England international Steven Caulker, who was making his debut for the Leone Stars. That said, 9 games, 9 goals - not exactly a great advertisement for African football...

GROUP E Equatorial Guinea 0-1 Ivory Coast GROUP F Tunisia 0-1 Mali Mauritania 0-1 Gambia Amazing scenes in the Tunisia-Mali game, with the referee blowing for full-time 5 minutes early, then restarting the game, only to blow early again with 20 seconds remaining and no injury time played, despite substitutions, a drinks break, a VAR check and a red card. CAF officials later ordered the game to be restarted but Tunisia refused to return to the field. The tournament's opening match remains the only one to have had more than one goal.
