Welcome to Frank Edwin's 1/16/2022 Salad Bar🥗Top 100 weekly inclusive feast where we invite you to Chow Down on a fresh variety of tasty musical artist cuisine. Romaine Calm - Turnip the Beet - Find Inner Peas.
The Top 100 has just a small sampling of the artists worldwide that have music we enjoy sharing. We literally can't keep up with the number of new songs released weekly and new to us artists we are discovering on a daily basis from a plethora of sources.
There are currently over 150 songs waiting to debut on the chart. To facilitate the opportunity of having more songs join the buffet we are delighted to give 6 songs each week the special designation of #1 Salad🥗Song.
#1 Salad🥗Song: Johnny Schaefer ft. Melissa Manchester - You Can't Hide the Light
“Imagine the world if everyone chose to see the light in everyone else instead of darkness.”
Who were your music icons as a kid? Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Johnny Schaefer shares, “GRAMMY® Award-winning legend Melissa Manchester and her music were a beacon of light to this closeted teen growing up in a small town in the 70s. I used to write songs and send them to her on cassette tape hoping she would record them. Well, after a long, wondrous journey, she graciously said “yes” to recording my song, “You Can't hide the Light.”
It is a joyful, engaging song about seeing the light in one another even if the other person forgets. With a Greek Chorus and double melody, the song is a unique world of layers weaving 55 vocal tracks in a dazzling array of sounds. It’s a modern dance music video with the vocalists’ spirits or, alter-egos represented in dance.”
It is a pleasure to present Johnny & Melissa with their first Salad🥗Bowl in honour of “You Can't hide the Light” being given the designation of a #1 Salad🥗Song in its 12th week on the chart.

melissamanchester.com/#1 Salad🥗Song: Anita Gabrielle - Avenue Louise
For 14 weeks Anita Gabrielle has taken us down memory lane on “Avenue Louise” which tells the story of her parents' meeting at the end of World War 2 in Bruxelles.
"Singer-songwriter and self-proclaimed “dyke in a hat”, she has spent her life fighting against obstacles put in her path as an artist, from being a woman to being gay and as an older woman in the music industry still finds her opportunities to be heard limited. However, for the Bedford based singer’s latest release ‘Just Neat’ she found inspiration from her brother, Michael, who lives with Parkinson’s Disease and is looking to raise both awareness and funds to assist others affected by the condition.
Resolving to bring some good from this challenging situation, she is donating funds from sales of the EP into research of the disease.
It is a joy to present Anita with her second Salad🥗Bowl in honour of “Avenue Louise” being given the designation of a #1 Salad🥗Song.

“I turned 70 on April 7 (2021), am living on an island with my spouse of 32 years, and still get to earn my living as an artist. Very grateful”, exclaims icon Janis Ian who joins the other musical chefs bringing us their #1 Salad🥗Song creations.
Ann Powers wrote the following for NPR: "In 1975, 24-year-old singer-songwriter Janis Ian's beloved ballad "At Seventeen" brought an invisible figure into the light. Millions of "ugly duckling girls" who didn't fit the era's feminine ideals sobbed along with Ian's empathetic account of how those standards destroy souls.
Now, in the first single from her release The Light at the End of the Line (her final album, she says), the 70-year-old Ian answers that song from life's other side. Good-humored and unsparing, "I'm Still Standing" celebrates every line and rough patch on an older woman's face: "Hieroglyphs that tell the tale," Ian sings in her lucid alto. "You can read them in the dark through your fingertips, like Braille." The song calls for an embrace of the aging body, one upon which time writes, as Ian puts it, the lyrics of our lives. And it's the intimacy she also uncovers — touch shared by old lovers who embrace each other's imperfections – that lends "I'm Still Standing" its powerful undertone of self-respect and joy."

www.youtube.com/user/janisianchannel/videos#1 Salad🥗Song: AMPERSOUNDS feat. Rufus Wainwright - Solitude Of Heart
Legendary house DJ’s and producers Fred Falke and Zen Freeman aka AMPERSOUNDS released a debut EP with vocals by GRAMMY® Award nominated artist Rufus Wainwright. “Solitude Of Heart” reaches the apex of the Top 100 feast in its 9th week on the chart.
“We were poring over poetry by Rabindranath Tagore for a few hours drinking tea and in that space we created Solitude of Heart. Wianright’s voice has such depth and feeling when we layered his vocals using a vintage modular synthesizer we were able to produce something that feels very dreamlike. The video that was created for this song takes you further into that realm, a colorful, lush and mesmerizing dream.
Speaking about the track Rufus Wainwright adds, “I love sometimes working with existing lyrics and Solitude of Heart by Rabindranath Tagore seemed incredibly fitting for our time. There is something very laid back about the track but also deep at the same time. I think it is the perfect track to listen to in the middle of the night. And we all know those can be very long so one can listen over and over again.”

rufuswainwright.com/#1 Salad🥗Song: Michael Fairman · Better Late Than Never
“Out singer/songwriter Michael Fairman claps back at folks who might think he missed his chance at attaining his music dreams with his latest single, “Better Late Than Never.”
The song’s message is simple and universal: if you believe, you can achieve. “If you want something bad enough, isn’t it worth trying for it rather than forever wondering, ‘what if’?” Fairman asks…
“As a man in mid-life trying to get my music heard, I know about climbing mountains,” says Fairman. “I am told multiple times a week that this is a pipe dream, but I don’t let it stop me. I’m proud to be representing boomers.”
“It may have taken me an extra thirty years than it did Shawn Mendes to get to this point, but my life experience makes me more confident now in my craft as a singer-songwriter.”
Fairman recognized his passion for music early in life releasing his first recordings through a small label in Chicago as a teen. Once he graduated high school, he moved to Los Angeles and then to New York to pursue his career as a recording artist.
His story is a familiar one: he formed a band, played out in clubs, invited record label execs, but…they seldom came. Eventually, finances dictated he hit pause on music and returned to Los Angeles where he launched a successful career in entertainment journalism and TV production.
Today, Fairman is the founder and editor of the popular daytime soaps channel
michaelfairmantv.com“The time wasn’t right, but that doesn’t mean I can’t try again,” Fairman reflects. “Back then, artists were at the mercy of someone seeing them live in order to land that major label deal. In today’s digital age, artists can put out their music for the world to hear and decide if it fits their musical tastebuds.”” By Randy Slovacek for The Randy Report
We are honoured to present Michael with our Salad🥗Bowl as “Better Late Than Never” becomes a #1 Salad🥗Song in its 9th week on the chart.
#1 Salad🥗Song: Barry Manilow - Dancin' In The Aisles
“We’ve known each other for so long. We were there at the beginning of each other’s long, enduring careers and we are still devoted friends.” Melissa Manchester on Barry Manilow
Lettuce groove as “Dancin' In The Aisles” reaches the apex of the Top 100 feast in its 12th week on the chart giving Barry his first #1 Salad🥗Song at the Salad🥗Bar; an honour he shares this week with Melissa Manchester.
