Welcome to Frank Edwin's 1/23/2022 Salad Barš„Top 100 weekly inclusive feast where we invite you to Chow Down on a fresh variety of tasty musical artist cuisine. Romaine Calm - Turnip the Beet - Find Inner Peas.
The Top 100 has just a small sampling of the artists worldwide that have music we enjoy sharing. We literally can't keep up with the number of new songs released weekly and new to us artists we are discovering on a daily basis from a plethora of sources.
There are currently over 150 songs waiting to debut on the chart. To facilitate the opportunity of having more songs join the buffet we are delighted to give 6 songs each week the special designation of #1 Saladš„Song.

www.virginiaernst.com/#1 Saladš„Song: Freddie Lewis - Growing Pains
āno man has ever squealed as he did squeal when he got his first radio 1 playā
"Freddie Lewis is a poet, songwriter and performer writing his way through his experiences as a young trans person. Having recently finished university, he has written and released a series of singles throughout the summer of 2021 ā each being showcased on BBC Radio and endorsed by the likes of Lucy Spraggan and Phil Taggart. Spoken-word sections and catchy hook melodies punctuate his unique brand of bedroom-pop, which takes influence from indie soul, acoustic folk, and all Freddieās favourite poets. He uses his music and poetry to share his journey toward finding self-love as a queer person, creating his own sound defined by thoughtful and playful lyricism, memorable top lines and unreserved emotion. Written by Darren Stehle on his Think Clearly website
āI donāt really feel any pressure to fit into a box because Iām just sort of doing me, thatās the box.ā
āTruthfully, I didnāt mean for this track to happen. Most songs, though deriving from a moment of inspiration, are crafted together and āfigured outā so to speak. This one was an altogether different experience. This one just sort of fell out of me. I can reflect in hindsight about what it means but when sitting down to write it my experience was my only real guidance. Now I understand the song as an exploration of my journey as a trans man which tells the whole story. Including the difficulties, the growth, and the joy.ā

truecadence.org/freddie-lewis/It is a joy to present Freddie with our Saladš„Bowl in honour of āGrowing Painsā being given the designation of a #1 Saladš„Song in its 12th week on the chart.
#1 Saladš„Song: Tom Goss feat. Steve Solomon - Best Life
āOur lives are so much shorter than we realize. Before you know it, you have a string of memories in the rear view mirror. Donāt let a single moment go to waste.ā ā Tom Goss
After having multiple #1 Saladš„Songs Tom Goss returns to the pinnacle of the chart with āBest Lifeā featuring Steve Solomon.
Tom shares, āI wrote the song thinking about all the wonderful things in my life, especially my husband,ā says Goss. āI made the video with found footage over the years.ā
āThe opening scene [in the video] is the morning before I went off on my first national tour in 2008,ā he adds. āWe were so young and fresh. In a way, nothing has changed.ā
This #1 honour comes on a special anniversary as Tom reveals, āMy first record came out in 2006. Thatās was 16 years ago! Thatās wild to me. I always thought thereād be a time when Iād have an agent, a manager, a label, a team. Something that would help me continue to build and grow. But that never came. Maybe I was openly gay too early. Maybe I was too honest about the kind of men I am attracted to. Maybe Iām not very cool. Maybe Iām not as good as I think. I donāt really know, I donāt really care (usually).
My journey has always been supported by the people that mean the most to me, you.
I get so many notes telling me I make people smile, or Iāve helped people see the beauty in their body, or I gave them the courage to come out to their family. I value that more than you realize. I am humbled and grateful.
Thank you for being on (and staying on) this journey with me.
Love, Tomā

www.youtube.com/c/tomgossmusic/videos#1 Saladš„Song: Allouche & Davis Mallory - Lifeline
For National Suicide Prevention Month previous #1 Salad Song Chef DĪVIS released the single "Lifeline" to raise awareness and help those in difficult times.
The music video for "Lifeline" was filmed in Miami - a city known for hard partying, alcohol, drug usage and human trafficking. Directed by multi-award-winning filmmaker Dmitry Zhitov, the video for "Lifeline" shows DĪVIS roaming Miami entering into a motel where a woman battles depression; a bathroom where a man battles drug addiction and the streets where a woman battles human trafficking.
The video ends with a list of Lifelines for Suicide Prevention, Drug/Alcohol Addictions and Human Trafficking with the hope to be a resource for those looking for help.
DĪVIS is the grandson of a Christian Psychiatrist (Dr. James Mallory, Jr) and felt the call to create a Mental Health awareness project. DĪVIS is also sober (celebrating 5 years in January 2022), experiencing the victory over alcohol/drug addiction, made it his mission to help others.
For the song he teamed up with Elon Allouche aka "Allouche", a 29 year old Producer/DJ out of Tel Aviv Israel. It is a pleasure to present them both with our Saladš„Bowl in honour of āLifelineā being given the designation of a #1 Saladš„Song in its 15th week on the chart.

soundcloud.com/allouchemusic#1 Saladš„Song: LIONESSES (ė¼ģ“ģ¤ė¤ģģ¤) 'Show Me Your Pride'
LIONESSES, a group claiming to be Koreaās first openly LGBTQ+ boy band, debuted their first song, āShow Me Your Prideā, at the Top 100 buffet 12 weeks ago.
The song addresses the struggles of dealing with homophobia, being true to who you really are, and showing off your pride in being LGBTQ. More importantly, Show Me Your Pride acknowledges that there is pain in coming out, but youāll truly shine and sparkle when you kick the closet door down and come out.
South Korea are not known for being entirely receptive of LGBTQ+ identities ā there still isnāt any law that punishes discrimination against homophobia and transphobia, and while there are LGBTQ+ cultural icons like K-Pop star Holland, LIONESSES mark the very first openly LGBTQ+ boy band in Korean history. A monumental moment not just for the country, but for the entertainment industry as a whole.
Speaking to TW News, band leader Bae Dam-jun says the motif of āShow Me Your Prideā is āwe are usā and that the bandās name, āė¼ģ“ģ¤ė¤ģģ¤ā, means ālioness of the savannah plainsā.
To echo this symbolism of their lioness nature, the music video accompanying the new song showcases the band members all in lion masks, with Dam-jun revealing their face near the end. Itās a strong message, and it helps that the song is damn good too! By Aimee Hart for Gayming: The Home Of Queer Geek Culture

www.instagram.com/lionesses.official/#1 Saladš„Song: Placebo - Beautiful James
āIf the song serves to irritate the squares and the uptight, so gleefully be it...ā
Brit-rockers Placebo joined the Top 100 13 weeks ago with their first single in five years, āBeautiful James.ā A statement accompanying the release says, āIt is with some poignancy then that new single Beautiful James arrives, born into a world that is as divided as it has ever been.ā
āAgainst the backdrop of splintering global relations, unchallenged online abuse and widespread fear among the narrow-minded of what they cannot understand, Beautiful James brings with it a message of defiance that seeks to normalize and celebrate non-heteronormative relationships in song.ā
Speaking about the meaning of āBeautiful Jamesā, Brian Molko said that he wants āeach person who cares enough to listen to the record to find their own story,ā adding: āWho is James to you? And is James even a man? These are questions Iām not going to answer, these are questions I want people to ask themselves....It remains imperative for me that each listener discovers their own personal story within it ā I really donāt want to tell you how to feel.ā
It is a pleasure to present Placebo with our Saladš„Bowl in honour of āBeautiful Jamesā being given the designation of a #1 Saladš„Song.
