Welcome to Frank Edwin's revamped Salad🥗Bar 101 weekly inclusive feast where we invite you to Chow Down on a fresh variety of tasty musical artist cuisine. Romaine Calm - Turnip the Beet - Find Inner Peas.
The 101 has just a small sampling of LGBTQ+ artists and allies worldwide that have music we enjoy sharing. We literally can't keep up with the number of new songs released weekly and new to us artists we are discovering on a daily basis from a plethora of sources.
There are currently over 150 songs waiting to debut on the chart. To facilitate the opportunity of having more songs join the buffet we have created The 10 at the 101 where the number of #1 Salad🥗Songs has been extended to 10 each week.
#1 Salad🥗Song: LA REINE GARCON - Accepte-toi
“Accepte-toi (Accept yourself)” sing to us Fabien Guidollet and Delphine Passant, the real life couple and plural feminine duo LA REINE GARÇON: two guitars and two voices for songs of liberation in weightlessness, soft and refined, as if Antony (without the Johnsons) and Joni Mitchell were embroidering together at the edge of the sky.
It is a pleasure to present Tret with them with their first Salad🥗Bowl as “Accepte-toi” is given the special designation as a #1 Salad🥗Song in its 10th week on the chart.

Sinclair is a multi-instrumentalist who writes, sings, plays and produces her own music. She hails from Madrid, NY, where she broke away from a highly religious sect of family members who have never accepted her since coming out, nor her wife, Natalie.
With this hardship in her rear view, Sinclair has become a beacon of hope within the LGBTQ community, showing by example that you can overcome hate, find your own happiness - and choose your family.
It is a joy to place a cherry tomato on top of “Won't Be Alone” awarding it the special designation as a #1 Salad🥗Song in its 11th week on the chart.

www.sinclairparty.com/#1 Salad🥗Song: Marchi · Gennaio
“Gennaio (January)” is the evocative ballad of the Sardinian singer-songwriter Marchi, embellished by a video set in the 1930s in the snow-capped mountains of the Val di Mello which sees the protagonists of a romantic outing of the past Antonio and Pietro, two friends who intimately experience the discovery of their love. He lives between Rome and Milan, where he is also active as a screenwriter for cinema and advertising.
The inspiration for the video originated from the discovery of a series of vintage photos depicting homosexual loving couples from the late 1800s and early 1900s. Farmers, workers, nobles, soldiers, children of all ages and backgrounds.
Having a photo taken in those days must already have been a special event in itself, almost official in a certain sense: we combed our hair, wore the good dress of the occasion, went to the photographer's studio and posed. There is a certain epicity in those portrayed looks, of poetry. Today a snapshot may seem a foregone conclusion, as we are used to doing it and deleting a hundred per minute, yet once behind a very banal photo there were stories similar to that of the video.
There was a time when taking a picture was an important thing, full of meaning. Let alone a couple of homosexual girls or boys forced to love each other secretly and who wished to have a simple memory like everyone else; something that survived time, to be handed down, to be looked at and looked at, to be jealously guarded in a pocket or to be proudly displayed in a frame of the living room. That moment, "the day of the shot", had to be an even more heartfelt event for them.
Someone will have had to challenge himself and his shyness in order to please his partner by making himself retract hand in hand or with legs intertwined. Someone else braver instead will have been proud to be photographed while she kissed her girlfriend. Here, these photos of the past made me take a journey through time and also reminded me that even if we have come a little bit of a road since then, in the present we still continue to be very far from a healthy concept of equality and freedom.
“It is a Polaroid-song, a kind of photograph in music that tells how pure and fabulous there is in the first moments of a love story," continues Marchi. “It is a memory, and to me a memory is like a happy island that the world does not see. It is not on the maps, it is not marked anywhere, only you know where it is and how to get there. And you always come back to that island willingly when things don't go well."
In his 10th week on the chart we are delighted to give Marchi his first Salad🥗Bowl in honour of “Gennaio” becoming a #1 Salad🥗Song.

linktr.ee/marchimusic#1 Salad🥗Song: Jaimee Harris - Keep Me On Your Mind
We are honoured to present Jaimee Harris with our Salad🥗Bowl as “Keep Me On Your Mind” becomes a #1 Salad🥗Song in its 9th week on the chart.
"I wrote "Keep Me on Your Mind" in the early stages of my relationship with my partner, Mary Gauthier. We were both touring separately for the first five months of our relationship. Initially, I thought of it just as a simple love song. However, as time has gone on the song has revealed its deeper meaning to me. Playing for women in prison and women in sober homes showed me that this little song was about way more than I was aware of when I wrote it.
I was fortunate to work with the incredibly talented Aaron Lee Tasjan on this track. He played just about everything on it and really took it into a new realm. We recorded it together on the day after the Nashville tornado at Magnetic Sound. All three of us were so grateful to have the opportunity to throw ourselves into music that day. Creating something together from scratch on a morning when we all woke to tremendous destruction was healing and powerful. A week later, the world shut down as COVID-19 began to spread. Once again, this song that wrestles with longing and waiting was able to bring comfort to so many dealing with isolation and grief. My hope is that it will continue to bring comfort as it goes out even farther into the world."

thefutureperfectproject.com/ #1 Salad🥗Song: Rascal Miles - Asylum
“I wanna be in a room just for me
That's quiet, isolated, and spotlessly clean
With a couple of windows
So I can feel the wind blow
And hear the white noise outside as I'm fallin' asleep
And my alarm won't go off
Cause I'll never set it
And I'll call in sick and I won't regret it
And if you promise
Not to tell them my address
You could come over
And play hooky with me”
We are delighted to present Rascal Miles a 3rd Salad🥗Bowl as “Asylum” becomes a #1 Salad🥗Song in its 9th week on the chart.
Vulnerability is a challenge in life and a necessity in music. Rascal Miles perfectly captures the sacredness of vulnerability and of offering a safe space for someone else to be vulnerable with you in his new song “Asylum”.” As Miles sings about staying home and being safe from the world, we find respite in the relatability of the lyrics.
A day to sleep in, do nothing, and have no responsibilities would be a well welcomed opportunity for most of us. Taking a break from existing in and performing for society gives us time to breathe and find what is important to us. For Miles, it seems like the person he’s singing about is what’s so important. He tells the muse of the song to “play hooky with me,” “share a safe space with me,” and “be in the future with me.” Whether this person is a friend or partner, Miles wants a moment to breathe, and wants to share those moments with them.
Questioning one’s identity, and sharing that with others, is one of the most beautifully vulnerable things a person can do. Miles reassures this person that they are free to do that in this “safe space.” With acoustic instrumentation, tranquil vocals, and authentic lyrics, “Asylum” by Rascal Miles conveys such a strong sense of peace and comfort that it creates a safe space for us as listeners. by Emily Cushing for Two Story Melody

She is a new kind of American troubadour. She is Joy Oladokun. The Delaware-born, Arizona-raised, and Nashville-based Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and producer returns to the buffet with "Keeping The Light On."
Reflecting on the song, Oladokun shares, “My next body of work is about the human will to keep trying in the midst of all the tragedy that we’ve seen and perpetrated. ‘Keeping the Light On’ is my little musical way of saying it’s really hard to keep trying but I think part of life is doing so anyway and seeing what magic comes out of it.”
It is a pleasure to present Joy with her first Salad🥗Bowl in honour of “Keeping The Light On” being given the designation of a #1 Salad🥗Song in its 14th week on the chart.
