England 4-0 Sweden England reach the final in stunning fashion by beating Sweden 4-0. After withstanding a strong first 20 minutes of the game from Sweden, which saw Mary Earps forced to make a save in the first minute, England went in front with a goal from Beth Mead, reminiscent of Gary Lineker's turn-and-shot in the Italia '90 semi-final. Lucy Bronze doubled the lead with a header early in the second half before a wonder goal from substitute Alessia Russo, who backheeled the ball through the Swedish keeper's legs from an angle after her initial shot was saved. Fran Kirby caught the keeper out of position with a chip to make it 4-0 and send England to Wembley for Sunday's final. Beth Mead moves on to six goals for the tournament, equalling the record set by Germany's Inka Grings in 2009. Alessia Russo is now tied for 2nd in this tournament with four goals, despite not starting a single game.

Germany 2-1 France Two goals from Alexandra Popp send Germany through to face England in Sunday's final at Wembley. Her brace takes her level with Beth Mead on six goals in the Golden Boot standings. Germany conceded for the first time at the tournament when Kadidiatou Diani's shot hit the post and went in off keeper Merle Frohms.

My Dad was at the 1966 World Cup Final (56 years ago yesterday). I went to two England matches in this tournament. They are the only matches any of my immediate family have attended at a major tournament.

England 2-1 Germany (AET) The Lionesses lift their first major trophy by beating Germany at a packed Wembley Stadium. Substitute Ella Toone put England in front with a sublime finish, just minutes after coming on but Germany levelled through Lina Magull with 11 minutes remaining to send the game to extra time. The decisive moment came when another sub, Chloe Kelly scrambled the ball home from a corner - the winning goal in the Euros final also being her first international goal. Beth Mead was named Player of the Tournament and won the Golden Boot after finishing as joint top scorer with Germany's Alex Popp with six goals but had more assists. Popp missed the final after being injured in the warm-up. England's record under Sarina Wiegman since she took over last year: Played 20, won 18, drawn 2, lost 0, scored 106, conceded 5.

England will now play in the first ever women's version of the Finalissima, between the champions of Europe and South America. They will face Brazil, who won their fourth consecutive Copa America yesterday, beating Colombia in the final.

Right now, I think the only team in the world who England would start as underdogs against is the USA and that gap is getting smaller all the time.

What I love about this victory (and the other victories too but more noticeably this one) is how wholesome everything has been in the run up and in the aftermath.
Unlike the men's Euro final - no violence, no hooliganism, no racism and just positive vibes all around. The trolls are still around on Twitter but at least it's limited to Twitter.

Very true and refreshing, but I do wish I'd stop hearing how women's football is different to men's because they dont feign injury and fall over all the time, because this final highlighted perfectly that both teams did exactly that. Slightest contact, fall over, studs left in, stay down and make sure VAR have a look, or get them booked, but dont need the physio on. They probably call it game management now? I think our future problem could be upfront as assume Ellen White is near the end of her career? And for all Russo's goals, today showed she cant start a game and chase defenders down, that isn't her game, then again we have the midfield and wingers to be scoring the goals I guess? What exactly did Popp do in the warm up to injure herself, think they would have been a different team with her up front. I hope the Brazil England game will be on the BBC as well, but more likely Sky?

A great result. I had a Β£10 bet on england winning but didn't win a penny as the game went to extra time, which is a bit of a con.

The peak TV audience for the final was 17.4m which is exceptional.

Funny thing is, I only know one other person who was watching it, when it's the men's you know everybody's watching it, apart from my Scots mates! So I'd take those viewing figures with a pinch of salt. Sadly when the Womens Super Premier League starts up again, the crowds will be back to the average of 1500-2000, and only bigger for local derbies. It's just the way it is, "supporters" of these clubs haven't got the affinity we have, because a lot of these clubs haven't been around very long. They've been created for the TV and Super League, and come with no fans

I remember when Sunderland Ladies played at my town's football ground for one season while their ground was being renovated. There was hardly anyone there. I went to watch them play Chelsea and there were less than 100 spectators. That was a top flight match too. That was back in around 2006 or 2007 and while the game has grown since then the average crowds haven't increased by a massive amount.

ITV currently have the rights to England's non-tournament matches but I don't know if the game against Brazil would be covered by that. I assume BBC will have the rights to the World Cup next year.
