Blur have released their first new single since 2015, The Narcissist.
It is taken from their new album The Ballad Of Darren, out on the 21st of July.

Ooh will listen later, had to be new music coming with those big shows this summer
Ok comments, love the music and production which weirdly reminds me of The Cranberries or similar 90s alt pop, get 'Kiss Me' vibes hehe. The most they have sounded like an indie band since 'Blur'. It is a grower heard it three times now, just lacking a chorus hook but it is definitely better than most of the music on their past record. But it is a crazy week when this isn't in my top 3 songs out in the last 2 days!!

A new Blur album just five months after the best Gorillaz album for a while. We are truly blessed.

The ballad of Darren is an absolutely awful album like think tank and the magic whip.

The ballad of Darren is an absolutely awful album like think tank and the magic whip. oof, it is better than 'The Magic Whip' and individually the songs are all pretty good but as an album, it is very one note. They needed a couple of rockers in there. It's all just a little morose, I guess all the fun songs go to Gorillaz.

I liked the Magic Whip, so I should be ok then!

Loving the album. Loving the new single "Barbaric". They were awesome at Wembley.

Barbaric is my favourite track on the album, so am pleased that is the third "single".
All in all this album is definitely a step up on The Magic Whip.
Still very early days but if I was to order Blur's studio albums in order of favourite to least favourite then mine would be ....
Parklife Modern Life Is Rubbish 13 The Great Escape Blur The Ballad Of Darren The Magic Whip Think Tank Leisure
Very little difference between #4 & #6 position.

You can vote for Barbaric on the heritage chart, been added to the bubbling under the 40 section... and The Coral too! www.heritagechart.co.uk/

It's a pretty good album. I can't make myself get too excited about it, but then I was never a huge Blur fan back in the day either.
That said, I am one of those weirdos who likes 'Think Tank', so go figure...
