We have that thread in the Games forum where we list songs where the title is or contains a name... but which ones do people actually like, or dislike?
Two favourites that come to mind instantly:
Steve Winwood - Valerie
Toto - Rosanna
Obviously there are loads more great ones...
On the 'hate' side: I've always despised Kaiser Chiefs 'Ruby', partly though not entirely due to overplay.

Those two songs you mentioned both NM #1 in 1982.
Obviusly add to my list of favourites Oliver's Army (The title contains a name rather than just being one).
and on the subject of Valerie, that song title has been NM #1 twice, with the Zutons in 2006 being the other.
For a worst song, ignoring anything in the 21st century as I'm sure there are a lot of terrible ones there, go back to the 1950s and the worst song I encountered along the way there, "My Son John" by David Whitfield.

A Best & Worst contender using the same name..... Best: Cat Stevens - Matthew & Son (1967)
^ Plus musically the bridge inspired one of Tears For Fears best songs ....
Worst:
Karel Fialka - Hey Matthew (1987)
^ This tries to be Prince - Sign O' The Times and fails miserably.

Billie Jean, of course!
Elvis Costello was mentioned earlier but I can't believe I didn't think of this one until now...

And another which I think is stunning, and with an incredible backstory - discovered it recently after watching the Bessie Smith biopic with Queen Latifah.
