In the other chart where we are posting (1973) it's about to begin for Queen with "Seven Seas Of Rhye" along shortly (ok, actually March 1974, so not quite so soon). And now it's about to end. I had no idea at the time it would, but Freddie Mercury
has just over a month left to live. I'd normally say how many number ones they have had but I have lost count.
Elsewhere, briefly, Slade have a top 10 hit in this chart and also the one in 1973. And whilst "Top Of The World" just hits the top there, the Van Halen song exits after one week at #50.
Glass Tiger enter, featuring Rod Stewart, and I know
TheThorne likes them, so I'm expecting to see this song do well on his chart. Paul Young fails to chart with his Crowded House cover but the band themselves will be along next week.
Now back to Queen: this song is just totally marvellous.
I calculated this as Queen's 14th number one not regarding the fact that much of the 1980s are being replayed, and "It's A Hard Life" is the one most in danger on this list of not being #1 when it comes around again but this is the list:
Killer Queen
Bohemian Rhapsody
You're My Best Friend
Somebody To Love
Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy
We Are The Champions
Don't Stop Me Now
Under Pressure (with David Bowie)
I Want To Break Free
It's A Hard Life
I Want It All
The Miracle
Innuendo
The Show Must Go On
