Mrs. Brown's Boys is always good for a laugh - and I like the new Weakest Link. Each to their own but the best comedy it provided in its last series was seeing it was watched by less people head to head than BBC2 Repeats of the first (1988) series of Red Dwarf.
I hope the BBC bigwig who agreed to the lengthy MBB contract was not the same one for splashing out the cash on Survivor (which last night's episode got beat head to head (despite having a SCD lead in) by ITV's very tired The Voice (UK); and the most matched in the 20:30-21:30 slot BBC2's The Beatles At The BBC in the ratings).

Looking at the above line-up, only Doctor Who appeals to me. I'll still be getting the Christmas Radio Times though! Same here, both the Christmas Radio and TV Times are a tradition. Definately watching Doctor Who, and some of the usual stuff like Blankety Blank, Mrs Browns Boys, and whatever else is on that's different. Definately will be film watching. Probably watch some fav Christmas films and others.

At one time you had to buy both to get the full TV listings but I only started to buy the Christmas Radio Times after restrictions on what each magazine could list were lifted (1988?).

As predicted, the only thing I watched was Ghosts. Don't mind how it ended but it felt a bit rushed getting to that point. Mostly sad it's over!

Yeah Ghosts is a weird one, chance to end it last season and didn’t and then do a Christmas special ending it the same way. I guess having the baby was key? But yes felt rushed to me as well. Anything said by the writers actors as to why it’s ended? Casually forgot that she will see ghosts wherever she lives…liked that they returned as an old couple what was on the plaque in the room they went into? Button suite? And didn’t forget the plague gang, now sat in a sauna 👍🏻

No Xmas TOTP only thing I really cared about Thank God for small mercies, that's depressing!. The only memories I have of those episodes are the parents complaining about how rubbish music is these days, and the awful decorations. Glad I didn't watch any and watched DVD movies. I heard there was this pathetic hoo-harr over Mrs Brown's.

Absolutely awful isn't it?. I love the old Red Dwarf and that theme tune sung by the actress who recently played Michelle Fowler in EastEnders. Swimming at my toes!😂😂😂. In late 2008 I think they repeated the first load of 1988 eps.

Mrs. Brown was very funny this year. I also loved the documentary on Caroline Aherne, and the Christmas edition of the Wheel.

Agatha Christie adaptation should be good tonight.
Unfortunately I've read the book!

Thought the killer was extremely contrived. Bit disappointed in it. Wasn't one of her best novels but still a reasonably good murder mystery although there were far too many suspects. I think it should have been kept in its own time instead of being set 20 or so years later and a political agenda added to it It didn't help that I didn't really like the lead actor and I felt it was unfair to the viewers that the murderer was barely in the first half. The denouement was very protracted and tedious.

I never knew this Thanks lordmelbury, that's going in my list of facts for the next time I have to put together a trivia quiz It's so random isn't it?🤣, never saw her as someone who would sing a theme tune, and one of the most iconic at that!.
